0

A sensational case has come to light from Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. Late night in the Mathura Gate police station area here, an ‘A-Class’ contractor along with his associates carried out a deadly attack on the laborers doing sewerage work and opened fire. In this incident, the contractor doing sewerage work was shot in the hand, while three other workers were seriously injured. CCTV footage of this entire incident has also come to light, in which the dominance of the accused is clearly visible.

What was the reason for the dispute?

Mathura Gate police station officer Harlal Meena said that this whole dispute started over the removal of soil lying on the road. The work of laying sewerage line is going on near Bhagat Singh intersection in Jawahar Nagar area. The workers had kept the soil taken out after digging on the road. Pushpendra Singh alias PK, owner of nearby plot number A-4 and ‘A-class’ contractor, asked the workers to remove the soil immediately at around 12 o’clock in the night. As it was night time, the workers refused to work, due to which the dispute escalated.

Attacked with firing and sticks

It is alleged that Pushpendra Singh became enraged when the workers refused. He, along with his brother-in-law Birju and other associates, started brutally assaulting the workers. Meanwhile, the accused also opened fire, in which sewerage contractor Satish got shot in the hand. Three other laborers were also seriously injured in the attack. All the injured have been immediately admitted to RBM Hospital, where their treatment is going on.

Main accused in custody

As soon as information about fight and firing was received late in the night, Mathura Gate police station immediately reached the spot. Taking prompt action, the police have taken the main accused Pushpendra Singh and his brother-in-law Birju into custody. The ‘Thar’ vehicle of the accused has also been confiscated by the police. A case has been registered on the basis of the statement of injured contractor Satish.

At present, the police is investigating the whole matter thoroughly and on the basis of CCTV footage found from the incident spot, they have identified other absconding accused involved in the crime and are conducting raids in search of them.

Himachal News: Jairam Thakur attacks Sukhu government as soon as he returns from Delhi, ‘Economic situation is continuously worsening’

0

Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Met and discussed in detail the economic and political conditions of the state. After returning from Delhi, Jairam Thakur told the press that the state is currently going through a serious economic crisis and he put this issue before the Prime Minister. He also requested for cooperation from the Central Government, so that the financial condition of the state can be improved.

The economic condition of the state is bad – Jairam Thakur

During this, Jairam Thakur made a scathing attack on the state Congress government and Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. He alleged that due to the policies of the Sukhu government, the economic condition of the state is continuously deteriorating. He said that development works are being affected and lack of financial management is clearly visible.

Responding to the allegations of stopping funds from the Center by going to Delhi, Jairam Thakur said that it was a privilege for him to meet the Prime Minister. He also said that if Chief Minister Sukhu asks for time to meet the Prime Minister, he will also get the opportunity. Targeting Congress leaders, he mentioned Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi and alleged that they maintain distance from common people and workers when they come to Himachal.

Questions raised on the decision to implement dress code

Jairam Thakur also raised questions on the decision of Sukhu government to implement dress code. He asked what kind of clothes Rahul Gandhi himself wears when he goes to Parliament and Congress workers go naked in front of representatives from all over the world at the Delhi AI Summit. Apart from this, Jairam Thakur raised questions on keeping the co-in-charges of Congress in Shimla as state guests for more than a month.

YouTuber lands on Moon using a ZX Spectrum. Conditions apply • The Register

Could Sinclair’s 48k Sinclair ZX Spectrum land a spacecraft on the Moon? YouTuber Scott Manley decided to find out, and the answer is… kind of.

Phrases along the lines of “they landed on the Moon with less computer power than what’s on your wrist / in your phone / <insert tech of choice here>” became commonplace over the decades and, while it is true the raw computing power is of an order of magnitude greater than what was available during the Apollo era, there is also truth in the statement “it isn’t what you’ve got, it’s what you do with it.”

Enter YouTuber Scott Manley and a project to land a spacecraft on the Moon, with a ZX Spectrum being used to control the descent to the surface.

Naturally, Manley didn’t have a real spacecraft and had to make do with the Kerbal Space Program, a spaceflight simulation game. He also used an emulator for the ZX Spectrum and Interface 1, and Python to glue the systems together.

Why the Interface 1? Manley used a virtual serial connection to shuffle data around. In addition to a Microdrive controller, the Sinclair Interface 1 featured an RS-232 interface. Although the serial interface could – in theory – rock along considerably faster, Manley stuck with 9.6 kbit/s, which turned out to be perfectly adequate for his purposes – getting a Sinclair BASIC program to respond to and direct the thruster firings in the Kerbal Space Program simulator.

Manley acknowledged that going down the Z80 machine code route would have been quicker, but sticking with BASIC makes the code more immediately accessible.

Did it work? Kind of. After a bit of tinkering to ensure the BASIC code and the Kerbal simulation remained synchronized and that communication lags didn’t reach a point where the spacecraft slammed into the virtual lunar surface, Manley’s lunar lander… landed.

However, the engineer acknowledged that there were plenty of limitations. “It has no guidance,” he said, “It barely has attitude control.”

Yes, Scott, but it did manage a landing. Using an emulated 48k Sinclair ZX Spectrum. It is a ridiculous enterprise, but at the same time, really rather excellent.

Rumors that NASA intends to pack an old Speccy as a backup on the Artemis IV mission are, of course, entirely false. Not least because the Blu-Tack often used to stop the power cable falling out is unlikely to pass space qualification. ®

This time, after opening the doors, the first 10 devotees who have darshan will be honored by the temple. On Wednesday (March 25, 2026), Secretary Sayan Kunal gave information in this regard.

He told that like every year, this time too the doors will open for the devotees at 2 o’clock in the night. Worship will take place for about 15 minutes. Devotees will start having darshan from 2:15 pm. Sayan Kunal said that according to Hrishikesh Panchang, Navami Tithi is entering from 2:11 pm on March 26. Navami Tithi is ending on 27th March at 12:12. Considering the date of Udaya, there is auspicious time for Ramnavmi on 27th March, hence Ramnavmi will be celebrated on 27th March in Mahavir Temple only.

Devotees without flowers, garlands and prasad will be able to enter after 12:00 noon. Devotees will also be able to have live darshan. For this, this time 20 LED screens will be installed outside the temple. Apart from the district administration and Patna Police, about 150 volunteers will be deployed for security. There will also be cultural programs

There will also be cultural programs outside for the entertainment of the devotees. On the day of Ram Navami, the crowd inside and outside the temple will be monitored through CCTV cameras. Sayan Kunal told that last time (2025) on the day of Ram Navami, 18000 kg Naivedyam Laddus were sold. This time sales of 20000 kg are expected. For this, 22 to 24000 Naivedyam Prasad are being made.

On the other hand, work of decorating the temple with lights and flowers is going on. All the flowers have been brought from Kolkata. This time more than four lakh devotees are likely to visit. At the time of Ram Janmotsav, flowers will be showered and Prasad will be distributed among the devotees. For this, two Naivedyam Prasad weighing 51 kg are being prepared.

Line will be connected to Veer Kunwar Singh

Information was given that the line of devotees will start from Veer Kunwar Singh Park. Barricading of steel and bamboo is being done. Apart from the Naivedyam Prasad counter in the temple, 14 additional counters have been made outside.

Two men arrested over Golders Green arson attack on Jewish charity Hatzola’s ambulances | UK News

Two men have been arrested in connection with the Golders Green arson attack on four ambulances by a volunteer-run Jewish charity.

The suspects – aged 47 and 45 – were arrested on Wednesday morning at addresses in the north west London and central London areas respectively.

They were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and both men have been taken to a London police station where they currently remain in police custody.

Officers are carrying out searches at the two addresses, understood to be in areas near Kilburn and Kings Cross.

The arrests are linked to the ongoing investigation into an arson attack on four ambulances run by Hatzola, a Jewish volunteer-led service, at around 1.35am on Monday.

Metropolitan Police said CCTV footage showed three hooded individuals pouring accelerant on the parked vehicles adding that the investigation “very much remains active”.

The fire happened right next to the Machzike Hadath Synagogue, in Golders Green, north London, where the ambulances were parked.

Residents reported being woken in the early hours by loud bangs after gas canisters stored in the ambulances exploded. The force of the explosions blew out windows, including those of the synagogue, and nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.

Golders Green fire: ‘I heard a loud bang from my bedroom’

Commander Helen Flanagan, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, which is leading the investigation, said: “We have been working around the clock since this appalling attack took place and this has led to these arrests being made this morning.

“This appears to be an important breakthrough in the investigation, but we’re also mindful that CCTV footage of the incident suggests there were at least three people involved.

“We fully recognise the local community will still be concerned and our investigation very much remains active and we will continue to work to identify and seek to arrest all of those who may have been involved.

“I’d like to thank the public and particularly the local Jewish community in the area for their continued support and reiterate our appeal to anyone who might have information that could assist with the investigation to get in touch with us.”

Jewish community in London react to ambulance attack

The Community Security Trust, a charity created to provide security to the Jewish community, welcomed the arrests, saying in a statement: “We are grateful to the officers who have worked tirelessly to find those accountable.

“While this development is an important step forward, we know the community will understandably remain concerned.

“Police security measures and CST’s own security operations will therefore remain at their current high level, with continued strong cooperation between CST and the police to protect our community.”

Protesters rally to ‘stop the hate’ in London

Islamist group Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (HAYI) has claimed responsibility online for the attack, which police have said is so far being treated as an antisemitic hate crime rather than a terror attack.

The newly formed group is believed to be aligned with Iran and appears to have posted a video on Telegram showing a map of the location of the attack and the ambulances on fire.

Tuberville warns against billionaires buying college sports programs

0

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Could the NFL’s current media rights model, which may add even more players with a new deal expected at some point this year, make its way into college sports?

As both deals currently stand, the NFL has a unified structure, where it splits revenue evenly across its 32 teams. Meanwhile, college football is fragmented, with conferences such as the SEC and Big Ten seeing more lucrative deals compared to others because of its teams’ popularity and bigger budgets.

There has been debate about unifying the conferences to negotiate a single TV rights deal, but while some are for it to disperse money and help every school be competitive against the powerhouse programs, others view it as a complicated problem without a simple solution.

Making an appearance on OutKick’s “Hot Mic,” Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., was asked his thoughts about the NFL’s potential problem as it looks to renegotiate its media rights, where streaming platforms could make fans pay more to consume the sport.

Tuberville explained why he’d rather that than a different future that has been suggested by some in college sports.

“Antitrust stepped in for the NFL back in the early ‘60s,” Tuberville said, referencing the 1966 AFL-NFL merger, which came after Congress allowed an antitrust exemption to combine TV deals. “Basically, the AFL and NFL got together with the federal government and [the latter] said, ‘You’re a monopoly. We’ll give you that opportunity. Go get you one TV contract with one or two TV providers, and you can do it all together.’ That’s the reason they’re making $300-$400 million dollars at the beginning of the year before they even snap a football. Antitrust really helped the NFL.

BROADCASTER TIM BRANDO SUGGESTS SPORTS FANS GET CONFUSED WHERE TO WATCH GAMES AS STREAMING TAKES OVER

“So, a lot of them want to do that in college. I’d rather do that at the end of the day in the future than have people buy college sporting programs. You’re hearing that now, some of these schools are worth $200-$250 million and some of these billionaires come in and buy them and basically run everything. We don’t need to get into that. This is amateur sports, and let’s keep that way as much as we possibly can.”

Could high-profile boosters with billions in net worth, or private equity firms, get their hands on media rights in the future of college sports, especially in football? Tuberville hopes that’s not the case, but if it were to happen, big-name programs could look to become a team like Notre Dame, which serves as an independent that negotiated its own media rights with NBC through the 2029 season.

But Notre Dame is not part of a conference despite pressure to join one over the years. They reached a deal with the ACC to play 5-6 rotating games each season, but they remain outside the rest of the conference.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama

If billionaires were to come in and buy the rights to college programs, and essentially run everything to Tuberville’s point, what’s to say higher valued programs, like the University of Texas, Ohio State and the University of Georgia, won’t start driving up asking prices for their media rights with networks?

So, Tuberville would rather see the NFL model in college football, and so would prominent Texas Tech billionaire booster Cody Campbell, who serves as head of the board or regents for the university.

Campbell has lobbied Congress to amend the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961, called the SAFE Act, to allow college sports to band together and negotiate TV deals as a single group, citing self-commissioned research that showed the deal could be worth around $7 billion. In turn, it would help schools like Texas Tech and others not be heavily reliant on their high-profile boosters to compete with the finances of top programs, which can shell out bigger NIL payouts to top talent coming out of high school and the transfer portal.

But a study was commissioned by the SEC and Big Ten, which found allowing conferences to pool together media rights would generate less revenue than if they were to continue the current structure in place now. In fact, this study showed that the rising rate of SEC, Big Ten, ACC and Big 12 media rights would eventually outperform the $7 billion projection over the next decade from Campbell’s report.

Campbell responded to this report, believing that “those who first made the mess and profit handsomely from the status quo do not want to fix it.”

At the same time, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said in October 2025 that Campbell possesses a “fundamental misunderstanding of the realities of college athletics.”

While it is, and will remain, a major debate in the ever-evolving universe that is college sports, Tuberville would rather see the adoption of the NFL’s model than have independent programs running rampant for years to come.

LG Electronics India inks 25-year solar deals to power two manufacturing plants

0

LG Electronics India signed long-term solar power purchase agreements with Hinduja Renewables Energy Private Limited (HREPL) and Sunsure Energy on Wednesday to supply renewable electricity to its Greater Noida and Pune manufacturing facilities.

The company signed a 9.80 MWp solar PPA with HREPL for its Pune plant and an 11 MWp agreement with Sunsure Energy for Greater Noida.

Together, the two deals will supply approximately 3.21 crore units of renewable energy annually — enough to power around 50,000 Indian households each year — and are expected to offset 0.61 million metric tonnes of CO2e over their combined lifetime.

Both agreements run for 25 years and are set to become operational in the second quarter of calendar year 2026.

The company described the deals as its first captive renewable energy project in India and its first strategic equity investment in an Indian special purpose vehicle (SPV) for power generation.

HREPL will draw power from its 27.7 MWp solar plant in Nanded, Maharashtra, meeting roughly 40 per cent of the Pune facility’s energy needs.

Sunsure Energy will supply power from its 82.5 MWp plant in Erach, Uttar Pradesh, covering about 30 per cent of the Greater Noida facility’s requirement and lifting the plant’s total renewable energy share to approximately 50 per cent.

Managing Director Hong Ju Jeon said the initiative aligns with LG’s global RE100 commitment to transition to 100 per cent renewable energy and supports India’s net-zero target for 2070.

The shares of LG Electronics India shares closed at ₹1,510.80 on the NSE on Wednesday, up 1.29 per cent from the previous close of ₹1,491.60, on the day the announcement was made.

Victor Wembanyama makes case to lead NBA MVP race, Spurs clinch playoff berth

0

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander swept the regular-season and NBA Finals MVP awards last year en route to his first championship.

While Gilgeous-Alexander is having another strong season that has put him back in MVP discussions for 2025-26, Victor Wembanyama believes there should be a clear-cut favorite for the award.

Wembanyama scored 26 points in Monday’s win over the Miami Heat, helping the Spurs clinch a division title and end a six-season playoff drought, then declaring that he would silence any MVP debate.

“I have thought about it,” the 2024 NBA Rookie of the Year said. “I think right now, there is a debate. There should be, even though I think I should lead the race. I’m trying to make sure that at the end of the season, there’s no debate.”

Wembanyama enters Wednesday’s matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies averaging 24.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 3.0 blocked shots per game.

While those numbers help bolster Wembanyama’s MVP case, others can make a case as well. In addition to Gilgeous-Alexander, Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic, the NBA’s leading scorer, is also considered a top candidate.

Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić, already a three-time MVP, currently holds slightly better odds to win the award this year, with Wembanyama sitting third, according to data compiled by ESPN. New NBA rules require a minimum of 65 games played for a player to be eligible for the MVP award.

Wembanyama also laid out a three-part case to support his MVP bid.

“My first one would be that defense is 50% of the game and that it is undervalued so far in the MVP race. I believe I’m the most impactful player defensively in the league,” Wembanyama said. “Second argument would be that we almost swept OKC in the season, and we dominated them three times with their real team. … The third argument would be that offense impact is not just points.”

Spurs coach Mitch Johnson voiced strong support for Wembanyama’s MVP campaign, pointing to the impact he sees every day behind the scenes.

“I think he’s close,” Spurs coach Mitch Johnson said. “All those guys you named are deserving; a couple of them already have that award. And I’m very biased. I get to see one of those guys every single night. I get to see him on the practice court. I get to see what he does in the morning. I get to see what does right now, after the game. So, I understand my opinion and outlook and perspective is very different than almost everyone else.”
