Britain-France’s Hormuz Security Mission: Angry Iran warned, said – If we take even one step, we will give a decisive reply – Iran Warns France Britain Maritime Security Strait Of Hormuz Shipping Attacks News Update

0

International tension has reached its peak regarding the safety of ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has categorically opposed a joint effort by Britain and France aimed at strengthening maritime security in the region after the end of the war. In recent days, attacks on commercial ships in the Persian Gulf have further fueled this tension.

Iran warned
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Garibabadi has issued the message through social media. He said the presence of French and British ships in the Strait of Hormuz would be considered a violation of international law. According to Gharibabadi, if these countries cooperate with any illegal action by the US, and even take a step forward, the Iranian armed forces will respond immediately and decisively.

What is France’s side?
Amidst Iran’s tough stance, French President Emmanuel Macron has tried to clarify the situation. Macron said that this is not a military deployment. He described it as an international mission, the aim of which is to secure shipping routes when conditions are favourable. However, uncertainty remains regarding security in the area.

American intervention banned
Amid increasing attacks in the Persian Gulf, America has also stopped its mission to guide merchant ships for the time being. The Strait of Hormuz is the world’s most sensitive oil supply route, where the navies of Iran and Western countries are now seen standing face to face.

Attack on South Korean ship revealed
Meanwhile, South Korea has shared the investigation report into the attack on its ship last week. According to the report, while the ship was anchored in the strait, two unidentified flying objects attacked it at an interval of one minute. This attack caused a massive explosion and fire in the ship. At present no group has taken responsibility for this attack.

AOC claims American Revolution was against billionaires of its time

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., tripled down on her critique of billionaires Friday, claiming that the American Revolution was fought against the “billionaires of their time.”

“I want to talk about how this is in the heritage of our country, because America was founded… you look at Thomas Jefferson writing to Madison in revolt of British aristocracy,” Ocasio-Cortez said at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics. “The American Revolution was against the billionaires of their time. And we are declaring independence from such an extreme marriage of wealth and power and the state that the voices of everyday people did not exist.”

Ocasio-Cortez was responding to criticism she received for her comments arguing billionaires didn’t “earn” their fortunes and likely built their businesses on “abuse.”

“You can’t earn a billion dollars,” Ocasio-Cortez said Thursday. “You can get market power. You can break rules. You can do all sorts of things. You can abuse labor laws. You can pay people less than what they’re worth. But you can’t earn that, right? And so you have to create a myth… you have to create a myth of earning it.”

Regarding the backlash, Ocasio-Cortez accused critics of pushing a “red herring” by assuming she believes all billionaires are immoral rather than focusing on the “immorality” of income inequality.

“They like to talk about American ethos as though it’s an attack on American values, an attack on our idea of success. And first of all, I mean, call me crazy, but I don’t think that every single American aspires to be a billionaire. I think that our idea of success, they might not object, but I don’t think it’s the universal American ideal,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

Ocasio-Cortez’s comments received renewed criticism from conservatives who pointed out that many wealthy citizens, including George Washington, helped lead and finance the American Revolution against the British government, not the aristocracy.

“No, AOC, the American Revolution was NOT ‘against the billionaires of their time.’ It was against a large, distant, overly intrusive government that recognized no limits over its own authority to tax, regulate, and eat out the substance of the citizens it claimed to serve,” Utah Sen. Mike Lee wrote.

It was literally a revolution against oppressive GOVERNMENT…the very thing @aoc wants to inflict on all of us. And the Revolution was financed by American free enterprise…the ‘billionaires’ of that time.”

“Uh, if George Washington wasn’t the wealthiest man in the colonies he was pretty close,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wrote.

Fox News Digital reached out to Ocasio-Cortez’s office for comment.

After her original comments on billionaires went viral, Ocasio-Cortez doubled down on her claims in an X post.

“The single largest form of theft in America is wage theft. $50 billion a year are stolen from American workers,” she wrote. “Some people get enraged that I draw attention to this. That’s on them. Let them call me shrill, dumb, inexperienced, girly, uneducated — these folks will say anything to distract from or undercut the truth that working people are getting screwed, and giving people a fair shake means we must have a grown conversation about reigning in abuse of power.”

Now there is no village in Delhi: All cities have been built on paper, 352 have been rejuvenated in 63 years; But basic facilities are missing – All 352 Villages Of Delhi Become Cities On Paper, But In Reality, The Facilities Are Like Those Of A Village.

0

There is not a single village officially left in the capital. With the recent declaration of 48 villages as urbanized, all 352 villages of Delhi have joined the urbanized category. MCD has completed this process in eight phases. However, despite this process lasting more than six decades, the picture of most of the villages has not changed even today and the villagers are waiting for basic facilities like cities.

Declaring villages as urbanized in Delhi started in the year 1963 after the implementation of the first master plan. At that time 19 villages were given the status of urbanized villages. Three years later, in 1966, 72 more villages were included in this category. While during the second master plan in the year 1982, 24 villages were declared urbanized, while in 1994, 20 more villages were added to this list. The process of urbanization gained momentum after the implementation of the Third Master Plan and Land Pulling Policy. In the year 2017, 89 villages were declared urbanized. After that, 79 villages got this status in 2019 and one village in 2021. Now in the year 2026, the remaining 48 villages have also been declared urbanized. In this way, the villages in Delhi have completely ceased to exist administratively.

The condition of villages has not changed even after six decades
Former MP Ch. According to Tarif Singh, the purpose of declaring the villages as urbanized was to provide them city-like facilities, but most of the villages are still struggling with basic problems. Narrow streets, disorganized construction, parking problems, lack of drainage and bad roads are still a big challenge in many villages. Former metropolitan councilor Rohtash Dabas said that in the name of urbanization, only taxes and rules were implemented in the villages, but the facilities did not reach. Apart from laying sewer lines, no major development work took place in most of the villages. Posh colonies have developed around many villages, but the villages themselves remain isolated areas surrounded by boundary walls.

Rules increased, favorable system was not made
After the villages became urbanized, property tax has been implemented there. Besides, the provisions of building bye-laws, master plan and DDA have also come into force. Due to this, construction and reconstruction of houses in villages has become a big problem for the villagers. Villagers say that considering the traditional settlement and narrow streets of the villages, the urban building bye-law is not practical. Many people are not able to construct or repair their old houses easily. On the other hand, commercial activities are not completely permitted in villages like in urban areas, due to which economic activities are being affected.

Difference between master plan and ground reality
Urban planners believe that the process of declaring the villages of Delhi as urbanized was completed on paper, but development could not take place at the ground level. A separate development model was not prepared keeping in mind the historical and social structure of the villages. As a result, villages could neither remain completely rural nor become modern urban areas. Than Singh Yadav, head of Delhi Panchayat Union, says that the government and concerned agencies should no longer limit themselves to just declaring themselves urbanized, but should focus on developing infrastructure, parking, roads, drainage, community facilities and employment opportunities as per the villages.

UP cabinet expansion: Eye on future with new faces, Yogi did caste mathematics with Hindutva; Akhilesh’s PDA cut – Up Cabinet Expansion: New Faces Eye Future, Caste Arithmetic Shaped By Hindutva

0

After about three months of deliberations in UP, the second expansion of Yogi-II’s cabinet was finally completed, putting an end to all the speculations. Due to this, while the government and the BJP organization have tried to maintain caste and regional balance, at the same time, they have also solved the caste arithmetic through the Hindutva agenda for the assembly elections to be held in 2027. At the same time, with the help of this brief extension, BJP will prepare the ground for a strong siege for the opposition by cutting the PDA formula of SP.

If we look at the entire cabinet including the new members, we will find that there is a hidden indication of BJP moving forward in the struggle of twenty-seven by keeping the unity of Hindutva at the center with the help of unity of castes. The first attempt seems to be to strengthen Hindutva by doing the mathematics of castes. The way the cabinet has been expanded without any major changes and the faces that have been included show that the BJP leadership has decided to enter the upcoming assembly elections in the state with a message of trust and unity.

Many kinds of discussions have been going on about some ministers, but if any minister already in the cabinet has not been teased, then the main reason for that is that by doing so, BJP has tried to give the message that there is nothing wrong in the cabinet and all such allegations of the opposition are wrong.

BJP has also tried to convey the message through expansion that while the PDA has been prepared with new faces, an attempt has been made to remove the resentment of Brahmins by including Manoj Pandey. Also, a message has been given to pay attention to the elders.

By including Bhupendra Chaudhary, Kailash Rajput and Hansraj Vishwakarma and by promoting Ajit Singh Pal and Somendr Tomar as Ministers of State with independent charge, a message has been given about respectful representation of backward classes in BJP and respect for their concerns. Also, by making Krishna Paswan and Surendra Diler ministers, a message has been given to take proper care of the share of the Dalit class. Above all, this expansion seems to be taking forward the BJP’s policy of ‘if you divide, you will be cut’. In this expansion, more than trying to achieve caste and regional balance, an attempt is also being made to unite Hindus.

25 OBC and 10 Dalit faces
In terms of electoral expansion, backward communities have the highest representation in the Yogi cabinet. After the inclusion of three members of backward castes in the expansion, their number has now become 25 and the number of ministers from Dalit community has become 10.
  • In the 60-member cabinet, there are now 21 ministers from the general category, 2 from the minority category and one from the Scheduled Tribe category.

Council of Ministers quota completed
After the second expansion, the quota of the Council of Ministers was completed. Under the 15 percent rule, there can be 60 ministers apart from the CM in the 403-member Assembly. Six seats in the Council of Ministers were vacant for a long time.

  • The first expansion of the cabinet took place in March 2024. Apart from the CM and Deputy CM, there are 20 cabinet ministers in the cabinet. There are 16 Ministers of State (Independent Charge) and 21 Ministers of State.

Akhilesh’s PDA cut in cabinet expansion
SP President Akhilesh Yadav has been playing the game of PDA i.e. backward, Dalit and minority communities since the last Lok Sabha elections. It is believed that there is a strategy to blunt the edge of Akhilesh’s PDA by including 4 members of backward and Dalit community in the latest expansion. Having more than half of the ministers in Team Yogi from these two classes also shows that BJP is taking PDA seriously and does not want to make any mistake.

  • Akhilesh said, when the BJP government could not do anything for the people of the state in 9 years, then what will these ministers do in the last 9 months. He alleged that the government has broken all records of corruption, inflation and unemployment. PDA is being treated unfairly under the BJP government.

After administering the oath to the new ministers, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has heartily congratulated all the ministers who took oath as ministers through the official Twitter handle.

  • He has written that he has full confidence that in the spirit of nation first, all the ministers will give new impetus to the development journey of Uttar Pradesh with the resolutions of public service and good governance. CM has wished a bright future for all the new ministers.

Experts call for UK four-day week as study links long work hours to obesity | Obesity

0

Those who work longer hours are more likely to be obese and cutting how much time you spend working could help you keep the weight off, research suggests.

International research presented at the European Congress on Obesity in Istanbul compared working patterns and obesity prevalence for 33 OECD countries from 1990 to 2022. The study found that countries such as the US, Mexico and Colombia, which have longer annual working hours, also had higher obesity rates, even though northern European countries consume more energy and fat on average than those in Latin America.

Reducing annual working hours by 1% was associated with a 0.16% decrease in obesity rates. The authors concluded that lack of time for exercise and work-related stress could explain why those who clock off last are more likely to pile the weight on. Dr Pradeepa Korale-Gedara of the University of Queensland, Australia, the lead author of the study, said increased stress raised levels of the hormone cortisol, causing people to store more fat, while working in jobs where they were unable to burn energy.

“When people have a more balanced life, they have a better life,” she said. “They have less stress, they can focus on more nutritious food and engage in more physical activities.”

Although researchers warn the study does not prove causation and income levels of different countries could also be a factor, it has prompted experts to renew calls for a four-day week in the UK.

About 200 companies have adopted the working pattern for their employees already. And South Cambridgeshire district council, whose Liberal Democrat administration won 43 out of 45 seats in the local elections last week, has introduced a four-day week for all staff.

Office for National Statistics data shows more than 200,000 workers have switched to a four-day week since the Covid-19 pandemic.

James Reeves, a campaign manager at the 4 Day Week Foundation, said: “A four-day week on full pay could slash Britain’s obesity levels by giving millions the time they need to ditch bad habits and make healthier choices.

“It’s essential that local and national governments seriously consider the role that a shorter working week can play in improving the health of our communities. The nine-to-five, five-day working week is 100 years old and we’re long overdue an update.”

Dr Rita Fontinha, a psychologist at the University of Reading, who published a review of evidence on the four-day week last year and has been funded by the Portuguese government to pilot a four-day working week there, said obesity was closely related to time poverty.

“If you work two jobs or long hours, you simply do not have the energy to cook and it becomes easier to just buy something packaged or processed.

“A four-day week or different forms of working-time reduction could be associated with better choices in terms of food, exercise and sleep to contribute to healthier societies.”

But ministers remain opposed to four-day weeks. A government spokesperson said: “This government will not mandate a four-day work week for five days’ pay. But through the Employment Rights Act, we’re making it easier for flexible working requests to be accepted.”

China and Russia could cause economic chaos with undersea cables, expert warns

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The U.S. economy is under threat from adversaries like China targeting undersea cables with the ability to “inflict devastating economic chaos almost at will,” a former U.S. intelligence official warned Sunday.

These cables carry 99% of global data and support up to $10 trillion in daily financial transactions, according to reports.

Andrew Badger, chief strategy officer at Coalition Systems, a defense tech startup, spoke as President Donald Trump is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing for talks expected to focus on trade, artificial intelligence and Taiwan.

Taiwan, a flashpoint in U.S.-China tensions, has reported about 30 subsea cable incidents in recent years, including one in which Chinese vessels allegedly severed cables and cut communications for months.

INTERNATIONAL UNDERWATER CABLE ATTACKS BY RUSSIA, CHINA ARE NO ‘MERE COINCIDENCE’ WARNS EU’S TOP DIPLOMAT

“America depends on the fragile nervous system of subsea cables for modern life,” Badger, a former Pentagon official and author, told Fox News Digital before warning that U.S. adversaries “seek to turn the bottom of the ocean into a battlefield.”

“The asymmetric threat — China and Russia are devoting far more resources to attacking undersea infrastructure than the U.S. or its allies are to defending it,” Badger said.

“They’ve identified one of our greatest vulnerabilities, and we haven’t caught up. A coordinated strike on American undersea infrastructure could fundamentally disrupt our way of life — the internet, banking, energy markets and military communications all run through these cables. The dollar cost is almost incalculable, and the real damage would be the chaos and political instability that would follow,” he said.

Badger’s remarks came after Senate Republican Whip John Barrasso, R-Wyo., alongside Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., introduced the bipartisan Strategic Subsea Cables Act of 2026 in April.

The legislation is aimed at strengthening the security and resilience of critical undersea infrastructure.

(Mikkel Berg Pedersen/Ritzau Scanpix/AFP)

“Undersea cables are important for a variety of reasons. They carry 99% of the world’s internet traffic. They also support $10 trillion in financial transactions each and every day,” Barrasso said in a statement.

In April, China’s Ministry of Natural Resources confirmed a successful deep-sea mission testing an advanced “electro-hydrostatic actuator,” a device capable of slicing through armored submarine cables at depths of 3,500 meters, according to reports.

Similar suspicious disruptions have been reported in Europe and elsewhere, raising concerns about coordinated “gray-zone” operations designed to probe Western responses while remaining below the threshold of open conflict.

“This is hybrid warfare in its purest form, designed to weaken the adversary below the threshold of declared war,” Badger said, noting that incidents such as anchors dragging across the seabed can provide plausible deniability.

“Cables give Beijing and Moscow the ability to inflict devastating economic chaos almost at will,” Badger warned. “This gives both nations tremendous strategic leverage over the U.S.”

China could also potentially target American undersea cables as a deterrent to U.S. engagement in Taiwan, according to Badger.

“Beijing could simultaneously target cables landing in the U.S., not to win militarily, but with the goal of breaking the American public’s will to intervene in Taiwan,” he said.

China claims Taiwan as its own territory, while the U.S. — Taiwan’s largest unofficial ally — supplies weapons under a law requiring it to help the island defend itself.

The Taiwan Strait is also a critical artery for the artificial intelligence revolution’s most essential resources.

Anniki Mikelsaar of the Oxford Internet Institute said growth in AI’s use means “rising capacity requirements on submarine cables. Not all recent cable damage incidents can be attributed to foreign adversaries: the ICPC estimates 150 to 200 cable breaks occur per year around the globe, most of them accidents,” she said.
