Young swimmer completed 30 km solo swim in Arabian Sea made world record


Seven-year-old Reyansh Khamkar from Thane has brought glory to the city and the country on the world stage by completing a historic swim of 30 kilometers crossing the waves of the Arabian Sea. Reyansh covered the distance from Malpe Jetty to Vijaydurg in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra in just 7 hours 30 minutes 11 seconds on 15 November 2025. With this amazing achievement his name has been registered in the World Book of Records.

By doing this feat at the age of seven, Reyansh has become the youngest Indian to cover this distance. His achievement has made the entire Thane city proud. Thane Mayor Sharmila Pimpolkar honored Reyansh and said that it is a proud moment for the entire city. He said that such courage, dedication and discipline at such a young age is rare.

Reyansh practices regularly under the guidance of coach Kailash Akhara in the swimming pool of Thane Municipal Corporation. His hard work and continuous training have laid the foundation for this success. This is not the first time that Reyansh has made a record. At the age of just six years, he registered his name in the India Book of Records by swimming 15 kilometers. In the last one year, he has won 13 medals in state and international level competitions.
