USA! USA! USA! We are all jazzed up about the World Cup, right? I mean it is in our own backyard this year and the USA Men’s National Team just won their first game with a dominant 4-1 victory over Paraguay. More importantly to me, we just won 1.35 units on the game because we took the over for it.
I’m headed back to the pitch today for a couple of different plays.

Brazil vs Morocco

Of all the teams in the World Cup, Brazil might be the most recognizable when it comes to soccer success. They have five World Cup wins and are searching for a sixth with a very strong team. Since March, they’ve played in four games. They lost to France and then have beaten Croatia, Panama and Egypt in their last three games.
Morocco is not a team that has as storied of success as Brazil. In order to qualify, they won all of their matches and then the country decided to change their manager. I’m not really sure how normal that is. They seem to be having more preparation than most teams, as they have five games since March while most others have only played three or four. In those five games, they had a draw against Ecuador and Norway, and beat Paraguay, Burundi and Madagascar.

This should be a decent matchup, but I personally think there is too much firepower on the side of Brazil. It wouldn’t be a shock if the game was a tie, but I do think it would be quite an upset if Morocco comes out victorious. Brazil is a heavy favorite to win their group.
Give me the over in this game as I think both should score, and I think Brazil puts in at least two. The over is at 2.5 +115 and the line for the game is -145 for Brazil. Give me both plays.
Norway vs Japan
One guy I actually do know a bit about from this game is on Norway.
They haven’t had a big history of success, but that could change with arguably the best goalscorer in the tournament on their squad. Erling Haaland is a great scorer who can manage to put it in the net against any defense. The question really is if the rest of the team can help out.
For Japan, they don’t have the dominant force that Norway does. That doesn’t mean they can’t win. This is a team that plays well together. They have a ton of guys that can dribble and pass well. Collectively they are hard to guard, but individually, they don’t have one person that you absolutely need to gameplan for (like Haaland). Again, that isn’t to dismiss their talent. Multiple guys on this team play for some of the biggest clubs in the world.

I think this should be a really good match and might be best to take a shot on a draw here. Norway is the favorite, and should be, but Japan is crafty and tactical. They could do a good job of keeping Haaland at bay and forcing someone else to beat them.
Give me a shot on the draw, and I do like the over 2.5 but not quite as much as I do in the Brazil game.
