
West Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari directed officials to cut off electricity and water supply to illegal factories running in Tiljala, Topsia and surrounding areas. This order has been given after the incident in which two people died due to fire in a factory.
The Tiljala factory where the fire broke out was being run illegally and its owners have been arrested, the official said.
What happened?
A fire broke out in the store room of a leather factory on the second floor of a five-storey building located on Khan JJ Khan Road in Tiljala on Tuesday afternoon. The incident happened at around quarter to two in the afternoon. After this incident of fire in Tapasia police station area, there was chaos and people started trying to get out. During this time, two people died due to suffocation due to smoke, while three others were seriously injured.
According to the information, the fire in the store room spread rapidly within a few minutes. On receiving the information, four fire brigade vehicles arrived and after three hours of effort it was brought under control. After this all the injured were admitted to the nearest hospital.

People were hiding in the bathroom
According to eyewitnesses, the people present there hid in the bathroom to escape the fire and smoke. He felt that he would remain safe for some time. But the rapidly spreading smoke engulfed them. There were only two exits in this entire building. But due to fire and smoke it became difficult to come out.
Instructions for filing FIR
The state government has directed the police to register an FIR. Apart from this, an inquiry committee has also been constituted, which will be headed by the Police Commissioner. This committee will submit its report to the state government.
