
The weather has taken a U-turn in many parts of the country. Due to the influence of active western disturbance from Punjab to Chhattisgarh, a period of rain, storm, lightning and strong winds has started, while continuous fluctuations in temperature are also being seen. Snowfall continued in Himachal Pradesh for the fifth consecutive day on Saturday. In Rajasthan too, a drop in temperature was recorded due to rain.
The latest bulletin of the Meteorological Department has indicated an increase in weather activities in the eastern, central and northeastern parts of the country. Besides, warning of heavy rain, storm and hailstorm has also been issued. There is a possibility of rain in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between March 21 and 24. There is a possibility of storm with a speed of 80 km per hour in some parts of Ganga plains of West Bengal, while in Odisha there is a possibility of hailstorm along with winds up to 70 km per hour.
According to the Meteorological Department, an active western disturbance is extending from northwest India to central India, extending as a trough from Punjab to north Chhattisgarh. Along with this, cyclonic circulation in the upper winds and jet stream flowing at a speed of 165 km per hour at a height of about 12.6 km is making the weather more unstable. Its effect is being seen in large parts of the country, where the activities of rain, thunder, lightning and strong winds have increased.
