
The case of murder of 17-year-old Lucky Kumar in Seelampur area of North-East Delhi has now taken a political colour. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has expressed solidarity with the victim’s family while demanding strict action in the case. On Sunday, VHP’s Indraprastha province minister Surendra Gupta reached the house of the victim’s family in Gautampuri area. He expressed condolences to the family and assured of getting justice.
On the night of June 24, Lucky Kumar was attacked with a knife in Gautampuri of Seelampur police station area. The family members immediately took him to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. The police registered a case of murder and started investigation. In the initial investigation, two minors were arrested, while the search for another accused is ongoing.
VHP said strict action should be taken against Faizan
Surendra Gupta said that such an incident in the capital of Delhi is a matter of serious concern. He demanded that the case be heard in a fast track court and the culprits be given strict punishment. VHP has demanded action under stringent sections against the main accused Faizan and others involved.
The organization appealed to the administration to ensure security, financial assistance and fair investigation to the victim’s family. Gupta said that if justice is not provided on time, then the strategy of further agitation will be considered.
The police is investigating the matter thoroughly. Evidence has been collected from the spot, CCTV footage is being analyzed. Police say that further action will be taken on the basis of investigation. VHP says that the society stands with the victim’s family in this case and the fight for justice will continue.
