Panic again due to earthquake in Venezuela, hopes of survival of buried people are decreasing
After two devastating earthquakes in Venezuela two days ago, a tremor of magnitude 4.9 occurred on Saturday. Although there is no information about any major damage caused by these tremors in the capital Caracas and Maracay, the hopes of people’s survival are fading as the rescue operations continue for the third day. The death toll in the devastating earthquake has increased to 1430. Officials said that the number of injured is more than 3200. By Saturday, the number of missing people had increased to around 69,000.
Due to lack of relief teams in many areas, people themselves are busy removing the debris of buildings with hammers and other tools to find their relatives. Officials have expressed fear that the death toll may increase further. There is increasing resentment among the people due to the slow pace of relief work in the most affected areas of La Guaira province. There is shortage of heavy machines and government help is negligible here. International aid has also started arriving but it consists of things like food, medicines and tents. There are no big machines to remove debris. There aren’t even cranes to lift heavy slabs of debris from the eight-tower Hugo Chavez housing complex in La Guaira, trapping many people inside. agency
Search for life still continues in the debris: An 18-day-old child was rescued safely along with his mother here on Friday night. Similarly, Nazareth Jimenez’s brothers, sisters and family friends are trapped in the debris. Many people are still alive in the debris but there is little hope of their survival.
20 people of the family were killed, 2 children buried: Omar Reyes in La Guaira said about 20 family members had been killed and two children were buried under the debris. While walking in the same debris he said, I am left alone in this life. Even on the third day there was shouting everywhere.

Venezuela earthquake LIVE: Another earthquake in Venezuela, 4.1 intensity on Richter scale
Another earthquake (aftershock) of 4.1 magnitude was felt on Saturday in the central region of the South American country Venezuela. This new shock has again increased the anxiety among the people who were already scared after two devastating earthquakes earlier this week.
Venezuela’s Seismological Research Institute said that the epicenter of this earthquake was about 35 kilometers west of La Guaira city. La Guaira, a major port city on the country’s central coast, has been declared a disaster zone after two powerful earthquakes on Wednesday caused widespread damage.
According to the agency, this earthquake occurred at a depth of only five kilometers from the ground. In earthquakes that occur at shallow depth, the ground shakes more and the risk of damage to buildings is also greater.
People felt the tremors of the earthquake in Caracas and surrounding areas. Many people immediately came out of the buildings out of fear. This shock has come at a time when two major earthquakes on Wednesday had collapsed many buildings, caused landslides and killed hundreds of people.
