US President Donald Trump has warned British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. In a social media post, he said, long term lease is not a good option in the case of countries. He specifically mentioned the island of Diego Garcia. The island is strategically located in the Indian Ocean.
President Trump said that Prime Minister Starmer could lose control of this important island by entering into a 100-year lease. Trump wrote that the claims of some institutions were never known before. According to him, these claims are imaginary. He warned that if Iran does not reach an agreement, the US may have to use Diego Garcia and Fairford airfields.
Trump says that this step may be necessary to protect Britain and other friendly countries from potentially dangerous attacks. He stressed that Britain should not lose control over this important island. America is always ready to fight for Britain. But Britain must remain strong.
