Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the remaining portion of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor and the Meerut Metro on Sunday. With this, the entire 82.15 km long high-speed corridor will become operational for the public. Currently 55 km portion of this corridor is operational.

The Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro project with a length of about 82.15 km (70 km elevated and 12 km underground) has been completed at a cost of approximately Rs 30,274 crore. Apart from Meerut, people of nearby districts will benefit from this. It will be easy to reach Delhi from Meerut.

Till now the rapid train was being operated from New Ashok Nagar in Delhi to Meerut South. Now it will be operated from Meerut Modipuram to Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi. To travel this distance of about 82 km, people will have to pay about Rs 213.

At the same time, metro is going to be operated for the first time in Meerut. The fare of the metro running on about 23 kilometer long route has not been announced yet. The district administration and police department have made strict security arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit. The traffic route on Delhi Road has been changed. Arrangements have been made for parking of vehicles near the rally venue.
