UP: The Anti-drone Gun ‘Dronam’, Which Came Into The Limelight After Operation Sindoor, Is Now Being Manufactu

Counter drone “Dronam”, which proved its technical proficiency during Operation Sindoor, will be manufactured in Jhansi Defense Corridor. This drone, popularly known as Black Gun, was also recently included in the Republic Day Parade and was honored with the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card. The plant will be started with an investment of approximately Rs 150 crore in the first phase.

Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor has allotted land to two defense manufacturing companies starting in the year 2026. This initiative will strengthen the defense production ecosystem in the state. 10 hectares of land has been allotted to Gurutva Systems Private Limited in the Jhansi node of the corridor. The company specializes in the manufacturing of counter-drones. The ‘Dronam’ system developed by it was recently demonstrated in the Republic Day Parade. The company’s technology was also tested during Operation ‘Sindoor’, for which it was awarded the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card. The company will invest Rs 150 crore in this project and will provide direct employment to about 380 people.

The second allotment has been made to Nexa Mumbai as 0.5 hectare land in Lucknow node. The company manufactures control panels, test rigs and test benches for calibration of aviation and defense systems. The company will provide direct employment to about 60 people by investing Rs 5 crore.
