Three teenagers and a youth from the same family of Jalalpur village of Incholi police station area of Meerut drowned in the Ganga river. All four youths are cousins. Another youth was saved from drowning. The search operation that continued till late night could not find any trace of the four. The incident took place on Friday at around 3:30 pm at Makhdoompur Ganga Ghat in Hastinapur.
Police said that the three teenagers and youth who drowned had gone to attend the funeral of 100-year-old grandmother Bhagwati Devi. After the last rites, all four along with another family member Pradeep started taking bath in the river Ganga. While bathing everyone went into deep water.

Local people took Pradeep out safely but all four brothers disappeared in the waves. Among those who drowned are two sons of farmer Kamal Singh Saini of Jalalpur village, LLB student Abhishek (21) and 10th class student Himanshu (17) and his younger brother Sonu’s two sons, 12th class student Deepanshu (17) and 10th class student Priyanshu (15). Mawana CO Pankaj Lavania reached the spot along with police force and PAC divers.

The mother of all four is in bad condition while crying.
After the accident of four brothers drowning in the Ganga at Makhdoompur Ghat, every house of Jalalpur village is in mourning, tears are flowing from every eye. The news of four cousins of the Saini family drowning together in the Ganga has ruined the laughing world of two real brothers. The mothers of the four brothers are in bad condition and crying.

The village was immersed in mourning, mother said – Mother Ganga, take me… return the children.
Abhishek and Himanshu’s mother Bijendri is becoming unconscious again and again after hugging her sons’ clothes. The eyes of the villagers also became moist after hearing the lamentation of Sonu’s wife Munesh. Munesh was repeatedly making the same request – Mother Ganga, take me away, return my children.

In the accident, Kamal Singh Saini’s two sons Abhishek and Himanshu and his younger brother Sonu’s two sons Priyanshu and Dipanshu drowned in the waves of Ganga. They have a younger daughter, Priyanshi. Priyanshi told that all four brothers were very promising in studies.
