The police had filed a charge sheet in the court on 20 November 2023 in the case of taking over the ancestral house in Bhadohi and taking control of the mining firm.
A total of eight witnesses were presented in the trial that lasted 895 days. After this, Vijay Mishra, his wife, son and daughter-in-law could be punished. Vijay Mishra could not come out of the bars after his arrest in this case in 2020.
An FIR was lodged on behalf of relative Krishna Mohan Tiwari on 04 August 2020 in the case of taking over the ancestral house and taking control of the mining firm. On 14 August 2020, Vijay Mishra was arrested from Agar in Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh.

In July 2022, son Vishnu Mishra was arrested from Pune. A reward was also declared on this. In 2022 itself, former MLC wife Ramlali Mishra was also arrested. Ramlali Mishra later got bail from the court but Vijay Mishra could not come out of the jail bars. Vijay Mishra is currently in Agra jail, while his son Vishnu Mishra is lodged in Lakhimpur Kheri jail. Ramlali and Rupa Mishra were sent to jail after being convicted on Thursday.

Former MLA Vijay Mishra sentenced so far
15 May 2026: Former MLA Vijay Mishra, wife and son were imprisoned for 10 years and daughter-in-law for four years in the property grabbing case.
13 May 2026: Prayagraj’s MP-MLA court sentenced the former MLA to life imprisonment in the court murder case.
13 June 2024: Former MLA Vijay Mishra sentenced to one month simple imprisonment for violation of the code of conduct.
March 2023: Sentenced to 5 years under the Arms Act.
4 November 2023: Vijay Mishra sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in the case of raping a singer.

Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law started crying as soon as the decision came
As soon as the MP-MLA court announced its verdict, Ramlali and Rupa Mishra started crying in the court premises. Rupa’s 12 year old daughter was also present there. She started crying after seeing grandmother and mother crying. During this period, there was tight security in the court premises.
