Government training for 3 lakh people under poor welfare employment campaign

New Delhi. Directed by the Prime Minister’s Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan (GKRA), the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has started skill training of 3 lakh migrant workers in 116 districts identified in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. Its goal is to provide the skills and orientation demanding workers and rural population after the Kovid era under the Central Sponsored and Center Managed (CSCM) component of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2016-2020. In collaboration with the concerned District Collectors/District Magistrates/Deputy Commissioners, MSDE is starting the program in these districts for skill training within 125 days. Training has already started in some parts of identified districts and gradually it will expand in other parts in some months.

More than 92 lakh people have got training-Let us tell you that the purpose of short -term training (STT) is to provide skill training to either school/college or unemployed youth for various fields and job roles under India’s major PMKVY scheme.

The duration of the training program is between 150 and 300 hours according to different job roles. Precious education recognition (RPL) recognizes the value of learning outside the formal adjustment and provides government certificate for a person’s skills.

Candidates are provided digital and financial literacy and accident insurance is given free of cost for three years. No fee is charged from the candidate to participate in the RPL program and the candidate who successfully gets training gets Rs 500.

The Ministry of Skills has trained more than 92 lakh candidates so far under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2016-2020.

Skill training of 3 lakh migrant workers starts in 116 districts

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship-MSDE, is executing training programs through existing training providers and project implementation agencies working under PMKVY 2016-20 or State Schemes.

1.5 lakh migrant workers are being trained under short -term training (STT) program, and other 1.5 lakh migrant workers are planned to be trained under the Precious Education (RPL) scheme.

In these districts, the work of aggregation for local jobs as well as the gathering of migrant workers for the purpose of training is done by the district administration. The Skills Ministry is directing its efforts to conduct skill training for various jobs as per the demand of the local industry, as recommended by the district administration.

Emphasizing the need to promote skill and entrepreneurship for rural development, Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey said, “Through skill development, rural development, Kaushal is a basic element of Bharat Mission as 70 percent of the total workforce comes from India.

The vision of preparing a rural workforce with the changing needs of the industry requires a comfortable coordination between various partners in the efficient ecosystem. We need to complement ourselves each other at the need of pressure to build industry-relevant jobs at regional levels to neutralize post-workforce displacement effects.

We are committed to focus on local demand-operated skill development programs to provide permanent livelihood opportunities for migrant skilled workers, whose collective power is the backbone of our economy. ”

The skill training and orientation program has started after the recognition and affiliation of training providers on Kaushal Bharat Portal in these identified districts and the acceptance of system-based goals later.

The roles that are in demand in these 6 states include Assistant Electrician, Self Employees Taylor, Retail Sales Associate, Customer Care Executive (Call Center), Sewing Machine Operator and General Duty Assistant etc.

As is a part of GKRA short term training (STT), so according to STT-CSCM-PMKVY 2016-20, eligible candidates will get all the benefits. According to the guidelines, the expenses of coming and going to help the eligible candidates, the cost of eating and drinking, post placement support, assistants and other assistance are receiving assistance under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.
