Unbreakable ODI Cricket Records: It is said that records are made only to be broken, but after looking at these four great records, this saying seems to fade away. The consistency of Sachin Tendulkar, the passion of Virat Kohli, the destructive innings of Rohit Sharma and the spin art of Muttiah Muralitharan have drawn such a line that, let alone crossing, even reaching there will be a challenge for the coming generations. These are not just statistics, but are a testimony to the eras of cricket that these legends had made.

It is impossible to break 4 big records of ODI cricket.
New Delhi. The history of ODI cricket is decades old, in which many legends have left an indelible mark with their bat and ball. But there are some records which stand the test of time so much that they fall into the category of ‘impossible’. There are four such ‘grand records’ in the world of cricket, breaking which is like a dream for any modern cricketer. In this article, an analysis of those four great records is given, which are recorded in golden letters in the books of cricket:
Sachin Tendulkar: 18,426 runs in ODI cricket
Sachin Tendulkar, known as the ‘God of Cricket’, gave a new definition to ODI cricket in his 24-year long career. He scored 18,426 runs in 463 matches. In today’s era, players are paying more attention to T20 leagues, due to which the number of ODI matches is decreasing. It is almost impossible for any player to play more than 450 matches and maintain form for two consecutive decades. After Sachin, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara (14,234) is at second place, who retired 4000 runs behind him.

Virat Kohli: ‘Half-century’ of centuries in ODI
Virat Kohli proved himself a ‘chase master’ by breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries. Currently he has more than 50 centuries in his name in ODIs (54 centuries and counting). The pinnacle of physical and mental fitness required to score a century has been repeated by Virat in every second-third match. Among the current active players, Rohit Sharma (31 centuries) is closest to him, but he is also far behind Virat. For the new generation batsmen, reaching the figure of 50 centuries is like climbing the Himalayas.
Rohit Sharma: Three double centuries in ODIs (3 Double Centuries)
Scoring a double century in ODI cricket is considered the biggest achievement in any batsman’s career. While many legends could not achieve this feat even once, ‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma has crossed the 200 mark thrice. Rohit also has the highest individual score (264 runs) in ODI. To score a double century, not only aggressive batting but also the stamina to last till the end is required. No batsman in the world today comes even close to this ‘triple double’ record of Rohit.
Muttiah Muralitharan: 534 wickets in ODIs
Till date no one has been able to find a solution to the spin of Sri Lankan magical spinner Muttiah Muralitharan. He has taken 534 wickets in ODIs. In modern day cricket, the rules are in favor of the batsmen and the boundaries have become smaller. In such a situation, it is unimaginable for a bowler to take 500 wickets. After Muralitharan, Wasim Akram (502) is the only bowler who touched the figure of 500. Among the current spinners, no player has reached even halfway to this record.
