Current Congress MLA and former BJP MLA and their supporters came face to face regarding the installation of a statue in Jaspur assembly of Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. Not only this, there was a lot of abuse and pushing from both sides. However, after receiving the information, the police, after a lot of hard work, controlled the situation and pacified both the parties.
The matter is being told about the idol in Thakur temple of Jaspur. For now, the police have appealed to both sides to exercise restraint. During this period there was an atmosphere of chaos for a long time.
What is the whole matter?
As per the scheduled program, Congress MLA from Jaspur Adesh Chauhan reached near Thakur temple with his supporters at 10 am. To install the idol of Rani Lakshmi Bai, the tails were removed. Meanwhile, after being informed by local shopkeepers, former BJP MLA Shelendra Mohan Singhal also reached the spot and protested. After which pushing and shoving started and there was chaos.
The uproar between the two MLAs and their supporters continued for a long time. The police arrived on information and took charge and pacified the matter. After which this work has been stopped for now.
Allegations and counter-allegations from both sides
Jaspur MLA Adesh Chauhan says that the women in Jaspur had long ago demanded that the statue of Veerangana Rani Laxmibai be installed and the Brahmin community also demanded that the statue be installed here. There was encroachment at this place, which was removed by the municipal administration six months ago, and a proposal was made here that a statue of Veerangana should be installed here. In this matter, a letter has been given to the District Magistrate to get it marked and that letter has also arrived a month ago.
MLA Aadesh Chauhan said that tomorrow Prime Minister Modi ji goes to Uttarakhand saying that half of the population should respect women and some people are protesting for there to be space for parking the vehicles and that the statue of Veerangana should not be installed. Today, the statue of the brave woman who sacrificed her life fighting for the Hindus is not being allowed to be installed. He also accused the former MLA of vacating a market by giving a false report in the court and making a parking lot there. Similarly, by getting the land use changed in Deria, he got orders from the High Court, whereas, he went to the Supreme Court and got it stopped. This is his characteristic move.
This is why there is controversy
Former MLA Shelendra Mohan Singhal said that the talk of installing a statue in front of the Thakur temple has been going on for one or two years. Some people want the statue of Veerangana Lakshmibai to be installed and the people of the area want the statue of Maharaj Agrasen to be installed. For this, the people of the locality have applied to the District Magistrate, on which no decision has been taken yet.
He has alleged that today the MLA came with some of his people and laborers and was trying to forcefully build a platform by digging here. The people of the locality protested that if the administration has any permission then show it. On which he said that I am the MLA of the occasion and I am the court. If anyone opposes me, I will beat him with a stick and drive him away.
There was a big protest on this matter and then the public gathered, the administration also came and put a stop to it. The administration has to take a decision on this, keeping in mind the views of the people living here and whatever decision the administration takes after talking to all the parties, action should be taken accordingly, force is being taken. Sometimes their supporters promote Ambedkar Jayanti by making it a stigma day and sometimes an attempt is being made to forcefully divide the society.
