Shortly after the announcement of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, US President Donald Trump said on Friday (local time) that he had urged Israel to reach a consensus to stop the conflict with the rebel group operating in Lebanon. In a phone interview with NBC News, Trump said he had contacted Israel earlier in the day and encouraged its leadership to support the ceasefire.
