There was a stir in Dehradun district when information came to light about a threat to blow up several police stations. This threat was posted through an account on the social media platform Instagram, after which alertness was immediately increased in the police department.
According to the information, in the threatening message it was said that many police stations of the district will be targeted. As soon as this information reached the police, security arrangements were tightened in the entire district. Additional police forces were deployed at sensitive places and around police stations and intensive checking operations were started.
Taking the matter seriously, police officials have immediately started investigation. Cyber cell has been deployed to identify the concerned Instagram account and reach out to the person operating it. In the initial investigation, it is also being seen whether this threat is a rumor spread by some mischievous element or there is some concrete conspiracy behind it. According to sources, after the threat, an alert has been issued in Dehradun as well as Mussoorie region. Police and intelligence agencies are together investigating the entire matter.

In view of security, bomb disposal squad and dog squad have also been put on alert mode. Surveillance has been increased in public places, markets and crowded areas. Police are constantly monitoring social media platforms so that any suspicious activity can be detected immediately.
Police officials say that such threats cannot be taken lightly, hence every aspect is being thoroughly investigated. Besides, an appeal has been made to the common people not to pay attention to any kind of rumor and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
The threat has been proved false in many cases before.
It is noteworthy that even before this, cases of such threats have come to light in the state, in which no suspicious object was found during the investigation and in many cases the threats were proved to be false. At present the police is trying to get to the bottom of the whole matter. This threat given through the Instagram account has further increased the vigilance of the security agencies and strict surveillance is going on in the entire district as a precautionary measure.
