The family refused to accept the woman, who was reunited with her family after 25 years, only because the woman had left Hinduism and converted to Christianity. The woman’s son placed a condition that if his mother left Christianity and converted to Hinduism, they could adopt her.

  • According to media reports, a woman resident of Godda district of Jharkhand had gone missing 25 years ago. After the death of her husband, a woman around 70 years old left home and wandered to Kolkata, where she found shelter in a shelter home. The woman was living in a shelter home in Kolkata for the last 25 years. During this time the woman met missionary people and they helped her, after which the woman converted to Christianity.


  • When the woman was missing her family members in the shelter home, the shelter home staff tried to find the woman’s family.


  • Somehow the woman’s family was traced and they were made to talk to her son living in Dahupnagar village of Godda through video call.


  • However, when the son came to know that his mother had converted to Christianity, the son refused to accept the mother.


  • The son says that he is ready to accept his mother if she abandons Christianity and embraces Hinduism. However, the woman has refused to leave Christianity.
