Telangana: Record of Bhujangasana will be made today, people from seven countries will participate, aim is to take yoga to schools – Telangana-yoga-mahotsav-bhujangasana-record-kanha-shanti-vanam-international-participation-countdown-hyderabad

Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), under the Ministry of AYUSH, will attempt to create a record for Bhujangasana in Telangana today. This event will be held at the world famous Heartfulness Meditation Center Kanha Shanti Vanam located near Hyderabad.

The program will start at 6:00 am. A large number of yoga lovers practicing Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) from across the country will participate in it. The main attraction of the Yoga Mahotsav will be the mass demonstration of Bhujangasana. The participants will practice in a coordinated manner and try to register it in the Asia Book of Records. Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy will be present as the chief guest.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of AYUSH and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav will also participate in the program. Heartfulness President Kamlesh D. Patel (Daaji) will also be present on the occasion. This 50-day countdown program is an important step before the International Day of Yoga. Preparations are expected to gain further momentum from Yoga Mahotsav 2026. It is based on the government’s vision of building a healthy and strong India.

‘Yoga 365’ initiative and Minister’s message

Prataprao Jadhav underlined the importance of Yoga Mahotsav. He urged everyone to turn the coming 50 days into a strong collective resolve. Jadhav said that yoga should not be limited to just one day. It should be adopted in every moment and every breath of daily life. It is in this spirit that the Ministry of AYUSH has launched the ‘Yoga 365’ initiative. Its aim is to help citizens make yoga a part of their daily routine.

The event will witness wide international participation. Representatives from countries like Singapore, China, Vietnam, Colombia, Malaysia, Brazil will join. There will also be participants from various centers around the world, including a refugee camp in Uganda. Representatives and participants from Heartfulness Institute will also join virtually. This reflects the growing popularity of yoga globally.

This countdown is started as an important phase before the International Yoga Day. This time too, the reach of Yoga will be expanded through public awareness campaigns.

How will yoga be taken to schools? When this question was asked to Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav on behalf of Amar Ujala, he said that Yoga has been included in the new education policy of the Central Government. Yoga has been made compulsory in Central Public Schools. Apart from this, due to the efforts of the Ministry of AYUSH and the Sports Ministry, Yoga has now also been included in the Asiad. Further preparations are being made to take it to the Olympics. When yoga has got the status of sport, then naturally it will be included in schools also.
