
The case of sexual harassment and blackmail that came to light from the Nashik office of IT company Tata Consultancy Services has created a stir across the country. According to India Today report, a female employee has alleged that trust was first built on the pretext of getting her a job and then she had to face forced relations, threats and mental pressure. This matter is now under police investigation and many people have been arrested.
The woman told that she had met the main accused Danish Shaikh during college. The accused promised to provide a job and gradually increased their closeness. The victim alleges that after this the relationship turned into force and pressure. She told that the accused gave the promise of marriage and later forcibly had physical relations. During this period, the role of other colleagues has also come to light.
The trap was made on the pretext of job
According to the victim, initially the accused won her trust in the name of providing her a job. It was because of that belief that she joined the company. But after getting the job, the accused and his associates started harassing her mentally and physically. This whole matter gradually turned into serious exploitation.

Pressure created for religious conversion
The woman alleges that the accused and his associates used to constantly talk about religion and pressure her to change her religion. They allegedly said derogatory things about her religion and tried to influence her.
Was the exploitation done through blackmail and threats?
The victim said that the accused called her to the hotel and forcibly had sex with her and later she was blackmailed for the same. It is alleged that she was repeatedly pressurized into having a relationship by threatening to make personal photos and information public.
What action has the police taken so far?
Nashik Police has registered a case in this matter and arrested seven people. Serious sections like sexual harassment, criminal intimidation and coercion have been imposed on the accused. At present the investigation is going on and no official statement has come from the company on this matter. According to the police, HR manager Nida Khan is accused of trying to suppress the complaints of the victims and save the accused. The investigation also found 78 suspicious call records, emails and chats. According to the police, a total of 9 cases have been registered.
