The SIT investigation into the case of sexual exploitation and forced conversion in TCS’s Nashik unit has made many shocking revelations. Terrorist connections of HR manager Nida Khan are also being investigated.
HR manager Nida Khan the main conspirator
According to the SIT, HR manager Nida Khan is the main conspirator, who tried to suppress the complaint and save the accused. During the investigation, police officials recovered records of around 78 suspicious calls, emails and chats between the accused. Police also found evidence of possible financial transactions. Nida Khan repeatedly asked the victims to forget the matter and did not take any concrete steps despite being a member of the Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee in the office.
The SIT has found a WhatsApp chat in which links of the accused with some suspected preacher from Malaysia have also been revealed. From the digital evidence found in the SIT investigation, all these things indicate that more than one network was operating inside the TCS office. Police have traced the WhatsApp groups that the accused allegedly used to discuss about colleagues, set targets and plan action. Deleted chats are being recovered with the help of forensic tools which can prove helpful in getting to the bottom of the investigation of the case. The SIT has so far identified 12 employees who are involved in this racket. Seven accused Asif Ansari, Taufiq Attar, Danish Sheikh, Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi and Shafi Sheikh, including several team leaders and engineers, have been arrested.
Police entered TCS office posing as housekeeping staff
In the month of February, the police had received a complaint regarding sexual harassment and forced conversion in the TCS office. Based on this information, the police launched a secret operation, after which the entire racket was exposed. In this campaign, women constables were secretly deployed in the TCS office as housekeeping staff for about two weeks. These policemen closely monitored the mutual behavior of the employees and informed the senior officers, which exposed the entire racket.
