After Khamenei’s speech, protests were seen in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Thousands of people of Shia community gathered at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. Demonstrations and condolence meetings continued here till evening. Now the administration has sealed the Lal Chowk area. Security arrangements have also been tightened around the Ghantaghar (clock tower).

Angered by the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the attack, people demonstrated against America and Israel in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh with photographs, posters, banners and Iranian flags. On Sunday, a large number of people from both Shia and Sunni communities participated in the protest in Kargil-Drass. Anjuman-e-Shari Shian, a major religious organization of Shia community in Jammu and Kashmir, has announced 40 days of mourning in the state. Thousands of people of Shia community gathered at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. Demonstrations, condolence meetings and prayers continued here till the evening. At the same time, due to the protests, many restrictions have been imposed in some parts of Kashmir.
