Bandipora-Gurez road in North Kashmir remained closed due to heavy snowfall on Saturday. A Border Roads Organization (BRO) official said that 38 stranded vehicles were rescued safely during the overnight rescue operation. He told that these vehicles were stuck in snow near Razdan Pass. The passengers have been taken to safe places.

The weather patterns changed in entire Jammu and Kashmir including the valley on Saturday also. There was snowfall in the upper areas while there was a huge drop in temperature due to rain in the plains. Stones fell from the mountain and landslides occurred at many places in Ramban area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Due to this the traffic was disrupted for some time. In view of the harsh weather, schools remained closed in the hilly and remote areas of Kathua, Udhampur and Kishtwar districts.
