Who filed the case?
According to reports, a case has been registered against Palash Muchhal under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. This complaint has been lodged by Vigyan Prakash Mane, a resident of Sangli, who is said to be Smriti Mandhana’s childhood friend.
According to the complaint, the incident took place on November 22 at a toll plaza on Sangli-Ashta Road. Mane alleges that during the debate, Palash Muchhal made objectionable remarks on caste. Police have registered a case under Section 3(1) of the SC/ST Act along with other sections. At present the investigation of this matter is going on.
