
A deep controversy has come to light regarding Eid namaz in Rudrapur of Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. The Muslim community, which has been offering namaz at Idgah in Kheda area for the last 50 years, is now preparing to take to the streets. This time it has been announced to celebrate Eid as Black Day.
Municipal Corporation took 8.5 acres of Idgah land on the orders of High Court
After the order of the Honorable High Court in Kheda area of Rudrapur, the Municipal Corporation took possession of about 8.5 acres of Idgah land. After this decision, there is huge resentment in the Muslim community. Since the beginning of the month of Ramadan, the society has been continuously appealing to the government, administration and public representatives. The only demand was that permission should be given to offer Namaz at the Eidgah for 2 hours on the day of Eid, but it is alleged that this demand was completely ignored.
Accused of using it in elections
After their demands went unheeded, the Muslim community has chosen the path of protest. It has been decided to celebrate Black Day by tying black bands on hands on the day of Eid. Besides, it is also being alleged that Muslim community is used during elections but they are ignored in times of need.
Councilor Parvez Qureshi’s sharp statement – take ration card
Councilor Parvez Qureshi said in sharp words that if we are being stopped from offering Namaz, then take away our ration cards and also delete our names from the Voter ID. His statement has made the entire controversy more sensitive. Shahid, Dr. Shahid, Raju Mian and Omar Ali also expressed their displeasure. At present the matter remains sensitive and everyone’s eyes are on whether this dispute gets resolved before Eid or not.
