The entire focus of Nitish government of Bihar is on employment and jobs. Preparations are going on for recruitment in different departments. Restorations are coming out. For the welfare of the minority community in the state and to provide them appropriate benefits of government schemes, the process has also been started for posting one Block Welfare Officer in each block. This year these officers will be deployed in all the blocks. This information was given by Minority Welfare Department Minister Jama Khan on Friday (February 20, 2026). He was talking to the media in the auditorium of Soochana Bhawan in Patna.

He said that apart from this, new recruitment is going to be done on 1076 different posts in the Minority Welfare Department. To complete the reinstatement process, the requisition related to this has been sent to BPSC and Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) as per the post.

Which posts will be reinstated?

It was told that recruitment is to be done on 6 posts of District Minority Welfare Officer, 487 of Block Minority Welfare Officer, 8 of Lower Division Clerk (Headquarters or Directorate-Secretariat Clerical Service), 14 of Lower Division Clerk (Area Clerical Service Cadre), 524 of Lower Division Clerk (Bihar Collectorate Clerical Service Cadre) and 37 posts of Hostel Manager.

On the other hand, Jama Khan said that 22 minority residential schools from class 9th to 12th are being constructed at different places. Presently these two schools are running in Darbhanga and Kishanganj and by April these schools will be ready in five places Katihar, Jamui, Kaimur, Nalanda and Muzaffarpur. After this the number of these schools will become 7. After Telangana, Bihar is the only state where minority residential welfare hostel is being constructed. There is a plan to create such minority residential welfare schools in every district.

Smart classes started in 75 madrassas

The minister said that smart classes have started in 75 madrassas of the state. Soon this facility will be started in all madrassas. A total of 10 centers are being established in 9 Madrasas subsidized by Bihar State Madrasa Education Board and one in Maulana Mazharul Haq Arabic and Persian University to conduct vocational courses for vocational studies for employment of students in Madrasas. Of these, 5 technical courses are working.

He said that a plan is underway to give Rs 25,000 to divorced women. More than 9 thousand cemeteries have been cordoned off. Praising Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, he said that excellent work is being done for the minorities in Bihar. Waqf Board lands in the state are being identified and will be made encroachment free.
