Rampur court has sentenced SP leader Azam Khan to two years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 for making objectionable remarks on the then DM. This case was registered in Bhot police station area during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The allegation was that during the election campaign the SP leader had made objectionable remarks against the then District Magistrate. The police registered a case in the case and after investigation, filed a charge sheet in the court. Since then the case was being heard in the court.

After completion of the hearing on Saturday, the court found Azam Khan guilty and ordered him to undergo two years imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs 20,000.
