Punjab: Were playing cricket, suddenly lightning fell from the sky, 1 boy died painfully, 2 injured

Punjab News: A tragic accident took place on Friday in Garhshankar, Hoshiarpur, Punjab. At around 12 noon in village Rasoolpur, a young man playing cricket in the playground was suddenly struck by lightning, due to which Taranveer Singh’s son Omkar Ram died on the spot and two other youth were seriously injured. Injured youths Jaspreet Singh, 17 year old son of Laxman Ram and 18 year old Anshpreet Singh son of Mukhtiyar Ram have been admitted to Raja Hospital in Nawanshahr in critical condition.

According to the information received, due to school holiday on Friday, Taranveer was playing cricket in the playground with his friends. Suddenly there was a bright lightning, which affected the youth during the game. Taranveer died instantly, while his companions were seriously injured.

One dead, condition of two stable

After the incident, the villagers immediately informed the government hospital Garhshankar and private hospital Nawanshahr for help. Taranveer’s body has been kept in the mortuary of the government hospital in Garhshankar, while the treatment of Jaspreet and Anshpreet is going on. According to hospital sources, the condition of both is stable, but till the time of writing the news, they were not completely conscious.

Panic in the area due to the accident

Villagers told that about a dozen youth of Rasoolpur were playing cricket in the playground located at Bakkapur. At the time of the accident, at around 11:30 a.m., there was a sudden flash of lightning. Soon after this, information was received that lightning had fallen on the youth present in the playground. This accident has created a wave of mourning in the village. Villagers have warned that due to rain Season Special caution should be taken while playing in open fields.
