Dr. Ruchita Sharma of the Medicine Department says that we have received the news of Prateek Yadav’s demise and we are deeply saddened by this loss. He was our long-time patient. I was treating him for a long time. He had problems like high blood pressure and hypertension. Just a few days ago, he was admitted here after suffering ‘pulmonary embolism’. This is a condition in which a blood clot travels through the veins and reaches the arteries of the lungs and gets stuck there. Due to blockage in the lungs, his heart’s functioning was adversely affected. He had come here a few days ago complaining of difficulty in breathing and other respiratory problems and at the same time he was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism is a serious and risky condition in itself. He was already taking blood-thinning medications; He was fully aware of his health problems and took his blood pressure medicines regularly.
