Panipat News: Broken road of NH-44 bypass became the reason for accidents, problems of drivers increased due to deep potholes.

The condition of the bypass built on the banks of the canal on National Highway-44 in Panipat has become a cause of great trouble for the drivers these days. Hundreds of small and big vehicles going towards Hisar, Rohtak, Jind and Rajasthan pass through this route every day, but the broken road and deep potholes have made the journey risky. Due to the gravel and rough surface on the road, there is always a fear of an accident.

Local people say that two-wheeler drivers are facing the most trouble. There is a constant danger of the bike slipping in deep potholes. The situation becomes more dangerous at night because due to the presence of a canal on the roadside, a small mistake can lead to a major accident. If people are to be believed, many vehicles have already fallen into the canal.

Bike drivers are in greater danger

A driver said that there are so many big potholes on the road that accidents are happening every day. A few days ago a vehicle had fallen into the canal. The road has been lying broken for a long time, but no permanent solution has been made. The condition of the road is continuously worsening, while the responsible departments are limited to giving only assurances.

Drivers expressed their displeasure

The second driver expressed his displeasure and said that the condition of the road has been the same for 12-13 years. Toll tax is collected from us in full, but no one pays attention towards road improvement. Due to bad roads, parts of vehicles are breaking and additional expenses have to be incurred on repairs. Especially commercial vehicle drivers are facing financial losses every day.

Traveling with children is also difficult

Another bike driver said that it has become extremely unsafe to pass through this road with family and children. A young man told that suddenly the bike slips in the potholes. For a person passing through here for the first time, an accident is inevitable.

Local people alleged that quality was not taken care of during the construction of the road, due to which the road broke down within a short time. Drivers of heavy vehicles say that due to the poor condition of the road, traffic jams often occur.

Many trucks and big vehicles are stuck in potholes. According to drivers, the road became worse after the bridge construction work started. Due to rainwater filling and pressure of heavy vehicles, the road kept breaking.

Administration admitted road problem

Panipat Deputy Commissioner Dr. Virendra Dahiya said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, bad roads and black spots are being identified. The problem of the related road is in the cognizance of the administration. Instructions have been given to NHAI regarding road repair and the work will be started soon.

The bypass road is under NHAI. Talks have taken place with the project director. As soon as the material is available, the repair work will be started in a day or two. Many times roads get damaged due to rain, but the department has been instructed to carry out repair work immediately.
