At the same time, companies that focus on user experience, software stability and respect the user’s money and time, their devices look slightly expensive than others.

Compared to Lenovo K3 Note and Xiaomi Mi 4i, the specifications of Moto G 3rd Gen are slightly weak, but to be waterproof and excellent software experience is included in the features of this handset. We used Moto G 3rd Gen as a primary smartphone for about a week and found it a reliable device. Let’s know in detail about other aspects of the phone.

Design and display
The design of the Moto G 3rd Gen is such that it is completely the hallmark of Motorola, but this device also has some unique touch. This smartphone may not be able to draw the eyes of the crowd due to its look, but the feeling of keeping it in the hands is fantastic and does not seem weak in front of the expensive device. It has a texcharged finish on its backpanel which creates a great balance between design and functionality. It is good in appearance and produces so much friction on the hands that the phone is safely in your grip. The texcharged finish of the handset is not too much as we have seen in many more handsets.

The backcover of the Moto G 3rd Gen can be removed, but the battery is completely sealed so that the device remains waterproof. This is the biggest feature of the device in this price. If you are going to buy a smartphone with your hard earned money, then we believe that a smartphone with waterproof feature is a more profitable deal instead of a device with full-HD display and octacore processor. Motorola claims that the Moto G 3rd Gen will be kept in 3 meters deep water for 30 minutes. This is enough as a remedy for safety during daily use. Water resistance is present in the phone, it does not mean that you keep it in your pocket and start swimming in depth.

During the time we spent with the Moto G 3rd Gen, it was realized that the phone is slightly ‘small’. We had to remind ourselves repeatedly that this is a 5-inch display device. It is possible that due to the habit of using big-screen smartphones, we felt so, or it could also be due to the magnificent screen-to-body ratio (ratio) of the device. Motorola has given a 720p display in the new Moto G device, which is not as sharp as other smartphones in this price range. It is not going to happen at all that you will start praising the screen.

However, there is also no pixels deficiency. The viewing angle of this display that comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection is good and we did not have any problem in seeing the screen in the bright light.

Software, Performance and Battery Life
The Moto G 3rd Gen has a stock version of Android 5.1.1 (Android 5.1.1). This means that it is ahead of its rivals in terms of day-to-day performance. Some people like the Octa-Core processor, but we want stable and proclamation-free experience even if the device is running on a relatively weak hardware. Yu of Lenovo, Xiaomi and Micromax has often compromised on user experience for specifications, but this charge cannot be leveled on Motorola.

It should also be believed that the company has not taken any threat to using almost stock version of Android. Now when the consumers are happy with this, what is the need to change the hit formula? Due to stock android using stock android, the company keeps releasing the update of the operating system rapidly, sometimes Google’s Nexus device is also left behind in this case. The Moto G 3rd Gen has a Moto Display feature. This feature was seen in Moto X (Gen. 2). Due to this feature, you will be able to see time and other notifications on the lock screen as well. For this, there is no need to bring the phone into active mode also. The smartphone knows when you raise it and without doing anything to you, it automatically provides information on the screen which is a great feature. However, sometimes the device looks over-covered due to this feature. Actually, while driving, we found that whenever the car was faced with small pits or stumbling on the road, the Moto Display became active on its own.

We tested the 2GB RAM/ 16GB storage model (Rs 12,999). Knowing that there is a difference of only Rs 1,000 in both the variants of the device, the question is made as to why the model with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage was made? This variant is very less likely to get a customer. Our suggestion is also that you buy only 2GB RAM/16GB storage model. The Moto G 3rd GEN comes with 4G support on both SIM cards and we fully enjoyed data connectivity on Airtel’s 4G network. Call quality and loudspeaker performance is also satisfactory.

While playing a high-end graphics game like Asphalt 8, we did not realize any lack in performance and despite playing for a long time, the phone was not heated. However, when using 3G in the sunlight for a long time, we found that the screen was slightly hot and it could be a problem for many people. The settings of the phone state that it has USB OTG support, but we could not run our drive with Moto G 3rd GEN. Some quick gatherings have also been included in the smartphone, such as shaking the phone twice and turning on the flashlight switch or holding the phone twice by turning your wrists twice, the opening of the camera app, all these features can prove to be useful for some people.

The battery lasted for 10 and 46 minutes on a consecutive SD video plabec, which is average for handsets with Snapdragon 410 processor. If you stay out most of the time and keep using data continuously on 3G or 4G networks, then charging the Moto G 3rd Gen only once a day will not work. The camera app that comes with Moto G 3rd Gen is in autofocus mode in the default. This means that you can take a picture by tapping on the screen. There is also a dial that can change the exposure settings by using it. It is welcome to include these new features. However, it does not work as easy as tap-to-focus style (you can use the third-party app if you want). The app also includes HDR mode. However, you cannot use it with focus and exposure control.

Talking about image quality, the Moto G 3rd takes pictures with great details in Gen outdoor and good light. However, the performance of the camera could be better in low light. The front camera is more than enough characteristics that will keep selfie’s fans happy.

The Moto G 3rd GEN can record the full-HD video and the slow motion video on 720p. Regular videos are fine in terms of quality, but despite being shot in the daylight, grains are clearly seen in slow-motion videos.

Our decision
If you are buying a smartphone to impress others, then Moto G 3rd Gen is not for you. There is no such specification in it, by telling you, you can rob the accolades. By the way, if you want, you can show your phone in front of friends by dropping it in a glass of water. Well, if we talk seriously, we are happy that the water resistance feature has been entered at this price point and the time has come to include this feature in all smartphones now.

This is not just a reason why we are suggesting to buy Moto G 3rd Gen. The camera and battery life did not disappoint. It is somewhat ahead in the case of stability and user experience and we also believe that every user is the first to have these two things.
