North Carolina Republican state Rep. Allen Chesser said he was taken by surprise when a Democratic sheriff who has long opposed cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) could not answer a basic question about how the government works.
A North Carolina House Oversight Committee hearing spurred on by the recent killing of a young Ukrainian woman, Iryna Zarutska, in Charlotte, took an unexpected turn when Chesser asked Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden, “What branch of government do you operate under?”
McFadden, who is the top law enforcement officer in the county where Zarutska was killed, simply answered, “Mecklenburg County,” prompting Chesser to repeat, “What branch of government do you operate under, sheriff?”
The sheriff answered, “The Constitution of the United States,” to which Chesser responded, “That is what establishes the branches of government; I’m asking what branch you fall under.”
After McFadden answered, “Mecklenburg County” again, Chesser remarked, “This is not where I was anticipating getting stuck. Um, are you aware of how many branches of government there are?” The sheriff quickly shot back, “No.”

After a long pause, Chesser continued, “For the sake of debate, let’s say there are three branches of government: legislative, executive, judicial. Of those three, which do you fall under?”
The sheriff answered, “I believe I fall under the last one … judicial.”
“You are incorrect, sir. You fall under the executive,” said Chesser.
After this, Chesser continued to press McFadden about how he reconciles his responsibility as an officer under the executive branch to enforce the law with his opposition to cooperation with ICE. Chesser asked McFadden how he reconciled his responsibility with a previous statement in which the sheriff said, “We do not have a role in enforcement whatsoever, we do not have to follow the rules and the laws that are governed by our lawmakers in Raleigh.”
The sheriff said that Chesser was taking his quote out of context, saying it was strictly in reference to immigration enforcement.
Though declining to offer more context on the statement, McFadden affirmed his office is now abiding by state law requiring cooperation with ICE, saying, “We follow the law, when the law is produced, we follow the law.”

In an interview with Fox News Digital the day after the hearing, Chesser, who is an Army veteran and former police officer, said that, “Obviously, those weren’t the cache of questions that I was thinking we were going to get him on.”
“I had several statements that he had made to the media and to the local press and in different interviews that kind of conflicted with some of the testimony that he provided yesterday about following the law. We made it to [only] one of those statements because we got held up on what I thought was baseline, just kind of setting a baseline of how we were to establish that his role is to enforce the law,” he explained, adding, “I was not expecting to have to get into a fifth-grade civics lesson with a duly elected sheriff.”
He said that McFadden has “decided to make himself kind of a centerpiece in the refusal to enforce immigration law here in North Carolina, adding, “It’s not so much the refusal to enforce immigration law, but it’s the refusal to enforce state law that says he must cooperate with ICE and ICE detainers when people are in custody in his facilities.”
WHO IS IRYNA ZARUTSKA, UKRAINIAN REFUGEE KILLED IN CHARLOTTE TRAIN ATTACK?

“Last summer, we had the unfortunate death of a young Ukrainian national that had sought refuge in our country and in our state,” Chesser went on. “I think that all North Carolinians, and all people who find themselves in North Carolina, should be able to count on one thing when it comes to public safety, and that is whether or not you are safe and whether or not the law will be enforced is not dependent on what county you find yourself in.”

“North Carolina is a safe state for all the people who choose to come here, and that is the point of the Oversight Committee [hearing] that we were having was, making sure that the law is equally applied and fairly applied across all imaginary lines in our state,” he said.
The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
It is said that hobbies are a big thing, and a person from Delhi has proved it to be true. He has kept a rare dog breed, which costs around Rs 1.5 lakh every month on its parlour, food and care. Owner Ditesh keeps it like his child and says that when he has developed a hobby, he does not look at the expenses. Weighing 70 kg and about four feet tall, this dog lives in a royal style. It is not rotated with a leash, but is left open in the garden. Due to its angry nature, special training is also given to it.
It’s smooth sailing these days for the United States and Honduras, the diminutive Central American nation and original “banana republic” that has just elected a new right-wing president, Nasry Asfura, to the delight of US sociopath-in-chief Donald Trump.
The gringo leader has even taken credit for Asfura’s victory, having threatened to cut off US aid to Honduras in the event that the electoral outcome was not to his liking.
Call it democracy at its finest.
This past weekend, Trump hosted his “friend” and fellow businessman Asfura at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where the two committed to jointly combatting drug trafficking and irregular migration.
The pact might have been a tad less hypocritical had Trump not just pardoned former right-wing Honduran President and Asfura ally Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was serving a 45-year prison sentence in the US for – what else? – drug trafficking.
Then, of course, there is the fact that the US has played an outsize role in creating the violent conditions that cause mass migration from Honduras in the first place. But surely it’s nothing that can’t be solved by more business as usual.
Indeed, it seems the winds are just right for the resurgence of the “USS Honduras” – the endearing nickname that was bestowed on the country in the 1980s on account of its outstanding service as an imperial military base from which to terrorise neighbouring Nicaragua, which had committed the outrageous offence of telling the gringos to take their capitalist system and shove it.
Some 50,000 Nicaraguans perished in the US-backed Contra war, while CIA mercenaries aided the war effort by raking in profits from the drug trade, speaking of the US track record on that front.
Nor was life on board the USS Honduras anything to write home about. Throughout the 1980s, a CIA-trained death squad by the name of Battalion 316 made life hell for hundreds of Honduran citizens who were suspected of improper political orientation and were kidnapped, tortured, and killed.
And the US was calling the shots for just about everything. Writing in The New York Times in 1988, journalist Stephen Kinzer offered the lowdown on imperial machinations in Honduras with a straightforwardness uncharacteristic of the US newspaper of record: “Behind the guise of formal democracy [in Honduras], military leaders make all important decisions, and they respond to direction from the United States Embassy.”
This embassy, Kinzer noted, was “one of the largest State Department outposts in the world”, adding that “American diplomats exercise more control over domestic politics in Honduras than in any other country in the hemisphere.”
And yet there were rough waters ahead for the USS Honduras – particularly with the 2006 election of ever-so-slightly-left-leaning President Manuel Zelaya, who had the nerve to raise the urban minimum wage to $290 a month and otherwise stab international corporations in the back.
The metaphorical naval vessel having been thus definitively blown off course, there was no choice but for the Honduran military to – very democratically – kidnap Zelaya in the wee hours of June 28, 2009, and whisk him off to Costa Rica in his pyjamas, never to be reinstated to his elected post.
The US-validated coup d’etat ushered in an era of intensified impunity in Honduras, as the domestic forces of law and order responded sadistically to unarmed anti-coup protesters, femicides skyrocketed, and the small nation embarked on its path to becoming the murder capital of the world.
In other words, all was dandy from a capitalist point of view, and, once illegitimate elections had been staged by the Honduran coup regime, the Democratic regime of then-US President Barack Obama wasted no time in signing off on the electoral triumph of the right-wing Porfirio Lobo, who quickly declared Honduras “Open for Business.”
Things then got even better with the reign of the aforementioned narco-President Juan Orlando Hernandez, whose re-election in 2017 amid ubiquitous fraud allegations was swiftly recognised by the first Trump administration – and never mind the ensuing slaughter, by US-funded security forces, of Hondurans protesting the election results.
Now that Trump is back at the helm of the USS Honduras with Asfura as first mate, it would have been remiss had Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not turned up on deck, as well.
During a January visit to Jerusalem to kiss Israel’s genocidal backside, Asfura made a downright disgusting mockery of his own Palestinian origins, responding with enthusiasm to Netanyahu’s declaration that he looked “forward to working with your government, both in economic fields and agriculture and technology in any of the areas that I think are laid before us”.
The man with the blood of potentially many hundreds of thousands of Palestinians on his hands proceeded to reassure the Palestinian-descended Honduran head of state, “You should know that as far as Israel is concerned, the sky is the limit.”
Under Asfura, Honduras is, no doubt, on course to renew its status as a key node of US power and influence in the hemisphere, giving Trump even greater leeway to wreak havoc in Venezuela, Cuba, and wherever else he sees fit – and probably guaranteeing a lot more spectacular violence to come in Honduras itself.
And as the USS Honduras sets off with vigour on its latest voyage of imperial servitude, you might say the sea is the limit, too.

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed President Donald Trump’s endorsement record again after he backed Republican Rep. María Elvira Salazar of Florida for re-election.
“She supports illegals more than most democrats. His endorsements are an insult to his base,” Greene wrote Tuesday in a post on X.
Fox News Digital reached out to Salazar’s campaign and sent a direct message to the lawmaker on X seeking comment but did not immediately receive a response. The White House also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar is doing a truly fantastic job representing the wonderful people of Florida’s 27th Congressional District!” Trump wrote in the Truth Social post. “María Elvira Salazar has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election – SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”
The incumbent congresswoman, who has served in the House of Representatives since early 2021, thanked the president for his support.

“Thank you, President Trump @POTUS, for your support. I will continue to proudly represent FL-27 in Congress and fight for what our community deserves,” she wrote in a post on X, listing five points: “Restore dignity and order to our immigration system,” “Codify strong, permanent border security,” “Drive down housing costs so Miami families can stay and thrive,” “Protect American jobs and keep our economy strong” and “Confronting socialism, communism, and dictators head-on while defending freedom across our hemisphere.”
“Miami is the ultimate melting pot, a city built by those who came here seeking liberty, opportunity, and a chance to start again. I know their story because it’s my story. In Congress, I will keep delivering results, standing firm on our values, and working to ensure opportunity and prosperity remain within reach for all,” she added.
Greene, a longtime staunch Trump ally who left office early last month after a bitter falling out with the president last year, slammed Trump’s endorsement track record in January, asserting in a post on X, “Trump’s endorsements do not drain the swamp, his endorsements solidify the swamp and ensure the swamp is never drained.”

“President Trump’s unmatched coalition building ability has led to the most successful Republican Party in American history which has delivered more long-held GOP priorities under his leadership than either party has achieved for their voters in many combined decades prior. President Trump knows politics is a game of addition, and Marjorie ‘Quitter’ Greene just lives a reductive, self-defeating life of subtraction,” Ingle said.

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif gave a big statement in the National Assembly regarding Pakistan’s relations with America and said that the roots of terrorism lay in Pakistan only when it jumped into the war in Afghanistan for America. He said that Pakistan’s past on the issue of terrorism has been full of controversies and termed it as a serious mistake made during the military rule. Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan often avoids accepting its history, whereas the reality is that the roots of terrorism lay in the same period when Pakistan jumped into the war in Afghanistan for America.
Khawaja Asif also raised questions on Pakistan’s participation in the two wars of Afghanistan. He said that the country is suffering the consequences of these decisions till today. According to him, the strategic closeness with America regarding Afghanistan after 1989 proved to be a long term loss for Pakistan.
Referring to the events after the September 11, 2001 attacks, Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan paid a heavy price for joining the global campaign against terrorism with America and was treated as if it had been used and thrown away like toilet paper.
Khawaja Asif This statement has now become the center of discussion in international political circles. He also said that after 2001, Pakistan again supported the US-led war in Afghanistan and took a stand against the Afghan Taliban, but when America left Afghanistan, Pakistan had to face the consequences alone and violence, fundamentalism and economic crisis increased in the country.
Khawaja Asif also challenged the narrative in which the Afghan war was presented as a religious duty. He said that a large number of people were prepared in the name of Jihad whereas the real objective was to please a superpower (America). Khawaja Asif also claimed that General Zia-ul-Haq and General Pervez Musharraf took part in the Afghan war not as an Islamic duty but to satisfy America.
Pakistani Defense Minister admitted that Pakistan He has been reluctant to accept his mistakes and according to him, the terrorism that exists in the country today is the result of the policies of the past, and the damage caused by these decisions can never be compensated.
Khawaja Asif also said that during that period, changes were made in the education system and ideological structure to justify participation in the war and the impact of these policy and ideological changes is still visible on the politics and society of Pakistan.

1800 liters of fake milk was made from 300 liters of real milk.
According to investigators, very small quantities of real milk were used to make fake milk. Every day 1700 to 1800 liters of fake milk was prepared by mixing chemicals and other substances in about 300 liters of real milk. Caustic soda, detergent powder and urea were used to thicken the milk and make it frothy.
Investigation revealed that fake milk was being prepared in the factory by mixing 450 kg protein powder, 650 kg skimmed milk powder, 300 kg premium SMP powder, urea fertilizer, caustic soda, detergent powder, soybean oil and palm oil. 1962 liters of fake milk and 1180 liters of fake buttermilk were seized from the spot, which were ready to be packed and sent to the market.
1370 liters of poisonous milk was destroyed on the spot
FSSAI has immediately closed the factory. 1370 liters of dangerous milk recovered from the spot was destroyed on the spot. In this case, factory operators Jitendra Patel, Sachin Makwana, Karan Parmar and Ajay Singh Parmar have been arrested, while a minor employee has been detained.
The owner of the factory, Rakesh alias Dhamo Patel, who is originally a resident of Salala and was currently living in Himmatnagar, is currently absconding. The police is busy searching for him. A case has been registered against the accused under various sections of the Indian Justice Code and Food Safety Act.
There was an uproar on social media
As soon as this matter came to light, there was a huge uproar on social media. Both fear and anger are being seen among the people. The special thing is that recently serious allegations have come to light regarding the milk of big dairy companies of the country. The complainant claims that harmful substances have also been found in milk of brands like Amul, Mother Dairy and Country Delight.
According to the laboratory test report, the level of coliform in Amul Fresh and Amul Gold was found to be much higher than the prescribed limit. The total plate count (TPC) in Mother Dairy cow milk was above the safe limit, while the level was almost double that in Country Delight cow milk. Only Amul Tetra Pack was found safe in the test.
Milk is not completely safe even after boiling
The complainant says that no matter how long the milk is boiled, the harmful elements are not completely eliminated. Consumption of such contaminated milk can be extremely dangerous for children, elderly and pregnant women. At present, the administration and food safety department are thoroughly investigating this entire matter to find out how big is the scope of this fake milk network and who else are involved in it.
