OpenAI told BleepingComputer that ChatGPT ads are not yet rolling out outside the US, even though some users noticed references to ads in the updated privacy policy.
On Reddit, some users pointed out that the updated privacy policy mentions ads, which led to speculation that ChatGPT ads were expanding globally, even for users outside the US.
However, the mention in the privacy policy does not mean ads are rolling out more widely.
OpenAI confirmed that ads are currently limited to the United States and said it has nothing new to share about a global rollout.
Unlike Google ads, ChatGPT ads are more personalized and could influence buying decisions, which raises additional concerns.
In fact, OpenAI admits that it’s taking a deliberate, phased approach to learn from real-world use before expanding globally.

“Ads are separate and clearly labeled. Ads are paid placements, and seeing an ad doesn’t mean OpenAI endorses or recommends the advertiser or its products or services.”
OpenAI does not share your conversations with ChatGPT with advertisers, which means advertisers do not have access to your chats, chat history, memories, or personal details.

The emergence of new parties amidst the decades-long battle between DMK and AIADMK has sown the seeds of possibilities in Tamil Nadu politics. As per rules, players cannot take review after watching the replay so that the decision is not affected.

Shaheen Afridi was stumped out on the last ball and in anger he hit his bat on the stumps. Bangladesh won this match by 11 runs and captured the series.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi claimed on Sunday, on “Face the Nation,” that President Donald Trump launched attacks against Iran “because it is fun,” accusing the United States of starting what he called an “illegal war” during an interview with CBS host Margaret Brennan.
“We are ready to defend ourselves as long as it takes,” Aragchi said. “There are people being killed only because President Trump wants to have fun… they are sinking ships and targeting different places because it is fun.”
The comments came as the war between the United States and Iran continues to escalate, with the Trump administration signaling the conflict could continue longer than initially anticipated.

Trump told Fox News Radio that he will ultimately know when the conflict is nearing its end, saying he’ll recognize that moment “when I feel it in my bones.”
The White House did not respond for comment from Fox News Digital.
During the CBS interview, Brennan pressed the foreign minister about Iranian drone and missile attacks across the Gulf region and their impact on neighboring countries that host U.S. military forces.
Aragchi defended Iran’s actions, claiming Tehran is targeting only American military assets that host U.S. military forces.
“We are only targeting American assets, American installations, American military bases,” Aragchi said. “They are using their soil to attack us… they use the territory of UAE to attack us.”

Brennan challenged him, noting reports that Iranian drones and missiles have struck civilian areas in neighboring countries. Aragchi denied that civilians were being targeted.
The foreign minister also addressed the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway by which roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply passes through. Aragchi said Iran has not formally closed the strait but acknowledged that some vessels have avoided the route because of security concerns tied to the conflict.
He also discussed Iran’s nuclear program, referencing roughly 440 kilograms of enriched uranium previously documented by international inspectors. He said the material is currently buried under rubble following strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
“They are under rubble,” Aragchi said, “Of course, you know there is the possibility to retrieve them, but under the supervision of the agency.”

Ministers are drawing up plans to send minesweeping drones to the strait of Hormuz amid concerns in Whitehall that complying with Donald Trump’s demand to send ships could escalate the crisis.
The government is considering dispatching aerial minesweepers to help clear the vital waterway of mines in an attempt to allow the flow of oil exports to resume. However, officials said that sending ships, as requested over the weekend by the US president, could worsen the situation given the volatile nature of the war.
Keir Starmer will announce tens of millions of pounds to support Britons feeling the impact of higher energy prices at a Downing Street press conference on Monday, where he will also emphasise the importance of de-escalating the crisis.
“We will continue to work towards a swift resolution of the situation in the Middle East. Because there is no question that ending the war is the quickest way to reduce the cost of living,” the prime minister will say.
Speaking to the BBC on Sunday, the energy secretary, Ed Miliband, said: “It is very important that we get the strait of Hormuz reopened … There are different ways that we could contribute, including with mine-hunting drones.”
He added: “All of these things are being looked at in concert with our allies … Any options that can help to get the strait reopened are being looked at.”
Iran’s announcement that it would target ships using the strait, through which 20% of the world’s oil supply normally passes, has sent oil prices soaring from about $65 (£57) a barrel to more than $100. Economists are predicting higher inflation and lower growth this year as a result, though the exact impact will depend on the length of the conflict.
The situation has put further pressure on the relationship between Trump and Starmer, which has been damaged by the prime minister’s refusal to allow the president to use British bases to launch his initial attack on Tehran.
A week ago Trump dismissed recent offers of British help as coming “a little bit late”, but this weekend he changed tack, calling for several countries to deploy ships to the strait.
“Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
Starmer spoke to Trump over the phone on Sunday night. Downing Street said afterwards: “The leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East, including the impact of the continued closure of the strait of Hormuz on international shipping.”
Officials in the UK, Japan, China and South Korea are considering Trump’s demand.
Takayuki Kobayashi, a senior politician in Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic party, said on Sunday the request was “something we should judge cautiously”. South Korea’s foreign ministry said in a statement it was “exploring various measures from multiple angles to protect our citizens and secure the safety of energy transport routes”.
British officials say they are open to the idea and are expected to lay out further plans in the coming days. However, they are sceptical about sending ships to the strait given the depleted state of the navy and the likely consequences of doing so.
HMS Dragon, a Type 45 destroyer, left Portsmouth last week heading for Cyprus, and could be redeployed to the Middle East. Officials have told the Guardian, however, that it is unlikely to reach Cyprus for at least another week, meaning it would take even longer to reach the strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, Britain’s last minesweeping ship in the region, HMS Middleton, departed Bahrain for maintenance days before the war began, a move now at the centre of a government row over whether the UK did enough to prepare for the conflict.
Officials are more optimistic about the possibility of using minesweeping drones, which cause mines to explode safely by mimicking the movement of ships. They are also planning to send Octopus counter-drones, which are being made for Ukraine but could be deployed in the Gulf.
While the government considers its options, it has come under fire from the Conservatives for not spending more on defence.
Kemi Badenoch, the opposition leader, said in a speech last week that ministers were dragging their feet on raising defence spending to 2.5% of gross domestic product, which the government has promised to do by 2027.
However, internal Ministry of Defence (MoD) figures seen by the Guardian show spending on counter-drones and missile defence fell in the last few years of the Conservative government.
The detailed budget breakdown shows spending on ground-based missile defence fell from £158m in 2021-22 to £49.4m in 2023-24, while investment in counter-drone systems fell from £22.4m in 2021 to £18.1m in 2023. The number of mine-hunting ships was cut from 16 when the Tories took office to seven.
An MoD spokesperson stressed that defence spending had gone up under the current government. They added: “This spending is going to boost our defences, including on new tech like the Dragonfire laser, which will be fitted to Type 45 destroyers in 2027.”
The Conservatives have been contacted for comment.

Earlier on Sunday, CPI(M) announced 81 candidates for the assembly elections in Kerala. It also includes the names of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and 11 ministers. CPI(M) state secretary MV Govindan said that out of 81 candidates, six are party-backed independents. Independent candidates for five constituencies Koduvalli, Kottakkal, Kondotty, Tirur and Palakkad will be announced soon. 56 sitting MLAs are contesting the elections.

The late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant recently came into a “vivid” dream that one of his former teammates had.
Lamar Odom, who won back-to-back NBA titles alongside Bryant during this time together with the Lakers, recently revealed to the “Doubl3 Coverage Podcast” that he was competing against Bryant in a three-point contest and actor Billy Crystal was hosting it.
But as they were competing in the dream, Odom said Bryant stopped and looked at him.

“He just stopped and he looked back at me. He said, ‘Hello, the afterlife is not what people make it up to be.’ And then I woke up shortly after that,” Odom said on the podcast.
Though a dream, Odom got thinking after that, believing his old teammate was trying to send him a message.
“Could be he [misses] everybody, that can mean a [multitude] of things. Maybe he’s still traveling, to wherever he has to go or have to get. I don’t know what it meant, but I just take it as live your best life now. Don’t sell yourself short,” Odom explained.
Odom’s own life experiences also brought about the afterlife conversation with himself.
Odom discussed it after nearly dying from a drug overdose in 2015, touching on it in a Netflix documentary, “The Death & Life of Lamar Odom.” Doctors said he had 12 strokes and six heart attacks after being found unresponsive in a brothel near Las Vegas in October 2015. He was placed in a medically induced coma, and would later wake up.
In the documentary, he said the afterlife was not what he had expected, and then heard Bryant now in his dream.

“I died and I couldn’t tell you where we go, you know what I mean?” he said on the podcast. “I think there’s a lot in life that we all live for, whether it’s your friends or family, money, whatever you fall in love with. You love it now because we’ve seen from his accident, nobody is promised tomorrow. I think that’s the biggest lesson I learned from his life.”
Bryant and eight others, including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on Jan. 26, 2020.
Odom and Bryant played together on the Lakers from 2004 until 2011, winning two NBA titles while the former won Sixth Man of the Year during the 2010-11 season.

Winter’s grip has yet torelease as an erratic patchwork of severe weather moved across much of the US, dumping heavy snow and making roads impassable in the upper midwest while damaging high winds swept across the Plains.
As portions of the mid-south readied for thunderstorms, forecasters said the storms will spread eastward and by Monday threaten a large swath of the eastern US, with mid-Atlantic states and Washington DC at greatest risk for high winds and tornadoes.
AccuWeather called the approaching weather a “triple-threat March megastorm” that will affect nearly 200 million people across the US and warned that travel disruptions are likely as the components of wind, snow, rain and cold developed into a bomb cyclone and would rank among the most impactful US weather event of the year so far.
“The severe weather setup across parts of the mid-Atlantic can be volatile on Monday if several atmospheric factors conspire together, which may produce one of the most impactful and dangerous early-season severe weather events in this part of the country over the last decade,” said Jonathan Porter, AccuWeather’s chief meteorologist.
Among the hazards, Porter said, were damaging straight-line winds, a few tornadoes – including the possibility of an especially intense tornado near the Baltimore and Washington DC metro areas through Virginia and into North Carolina.

Further north, from near New York City into southern New England, “flooding downpours can be a concern into Monday night. Some spots could get a brief, intense burst of rain that could provide 0.5 inch to 1 inch in less than an hour, resulting in flooding, especially in urban and poor drainage areas.”
The National Weather Service warned that the line of severe storms with damaging winds would cross much of the eastern US by late Monday. It was to begin on Sunday afternoon and cross the Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio valleys.
The storm threat was expected to enter the Appalachians early Monday, then move toward the east coast, where “severe thunderstorms with widespread damaging winds and several tornadoes” were expected during the day on Monday, the weather service said.
A stretch from parts of South Carolina to Maryland appeared most likely to experience the greatest damaging winds on Monday afternoon, the weather service said. That could include Raleigh, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; and the nation’s capital. The weather service said an increased – albeit much lower – risk stretched north to New York and south to Florida, with thunderstorms possible in New England.
More than 20in (50cm) of snow had fallen in some portions of south-eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin as of Sunday afternoon, according to National Weather Service reports, with more snow likely to fall in places including Minneapolis amid blizzard warnings by the weather service.
More than 600 flights flying out of and into the Minneapolis-Saint Paul international airport were canceled on Sunday, according to FlightAware, a website that tracks flight disruptions. Dozens more through Detroit were also scrapped.
An area from central Wisconsin to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula was likely to see more than 2 feet (60cm) of snow, with higher isolated totals on the peninsula, Roys said. Lower snow accumulations in places such as Chicago and Milwaukee will still probably create trouble for commuters on Monday, he added.
Aaron Haas, a snowplow driver in Wisconsin, said it was one of the worst storms he had seen in years. On Sunday around the city of Marshfield, Haas was stacking piles of snow as high as his truck.

“You can’t see anything when you’re on the highways outside of the city,” he said.
Jim Allen, 45, who lives on the Upper Peninsula, said his family stocked up on necessities and he was ready to clear snow several times on Sunday with the shovel and snowblower.
“We’re basically prepared to just kind of hunker down for a few days if we need to,” Allen said.
More than 210,000 utility customers in six Great Lakes states were without electricity as of Sunday afternoon, according to PowerOutage.us. Some originated on Friday when gusts in the region reached 85mph (135 km/h).
In Nebraska, about 30 national guard members were deployed to help combat multiple wildfires across a broad swath of range and grassland, the state’s emergency management agency said.
As of Saturday, three of the largest wildfires had damaged well over 900 sq miles (2,330 sq km), the agency said. One fire-related fatality was reported on Friday, and in a news release Jim Pillen, the Nebraska governor, urged residents to follow locally issued evacuation orders, adding that winds were “supposed to be extraordinary” on Sunday.
The weather service issued a high-wind warning on Sunday for most of Nebraska, with wind gusts of up to 60mph (97 km/h) possible amid falling snow. Roys said high winds would affect a region stretching from the US-Mexico border to the Great Lakes, and from Denver eastward to the Appalachian Mountains.
The Duke Blue Devils, led by Cameron Boozer, were the No. 1 overall seed and the top team in the East Region.

The Arizona Wildcats were named the No. 1 seed in the West Region. The Wildcats won the Big 12 Championship and are 32-2. Brayden Burries leads the team with 15.9 points per game this season. Arizona is in the top right quadrant of the bracket.
