Gems, jewelery exports fall 9% in April on weak demand

0

Gems and Jewelery exports declined by 9 per cent in April to $2.45 billion (Rs 20,952 crore) due to the ripple effect of ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, which has led to the trade taking a cautious approach in the near term. Imports declined by 10 per cent to $2.03 billion last month.

Export of cut and polished diamonds was down 20 per cent at $891 million against $1.11 billion due to sluggish demand as retailers pruned inventory in major export markets. Cut and polished diamond imports more than tripled to $222 million ($62 million) as the trade replenished stocks on the expectation of recovery in the global demand and increased their procurement activities from the SEZs.

Rough diamonds imports dipped 29 per cent to $848 million ($1.21 billion) due to cautious purchasing and lower manufacturing activity.

Polished lab grown diamonds export also decreased 16 per cent to $93 million ($110 million) due to lower global demand for retail products, pricing adjustment and increased competition in the international markets.

High gold price impact

Gold jewelery exports were down 22 per cent at $842 million ($1.08 billion) compared to that of the previous year. The high gold prices and turbulent global economy have hit global demand amid.

Colin Shah, MD, Kama Jewelry said the gems and jewelery exports were under pressure due to persistent global economic headwinds and volatility in precious metal prices.

The traditional categories or star performers such as cut and polished diamonds and plain gold jewelery remained under pressure due to cautious consumer sentiment and high bullion prices, he said.

“While there was no predictable sign, we remain strongly hopeful of a possible truce between the countries at conflict,” he added.

Bucking the weak trend, silver jewelery export jumped over four times to $268 million (49 million) due to high demand for affordable jewelery substitutes in the global market. Volatility in the price of silver during the period also contributed to the sharp rise.

Platinum jewelery exports were up 90 per cent at $22 million ($12 million) due to rising demand from the developed markets and the preference of the consumers towards buying the premium contemporary jewellery, especially in the bridal and lifestyle segment.

Retired Navy admiral makes bombshell claim about UFOs and ‘non-human intelligence’ controlling them

Are UFOs controlled by non-human entities?

There are few topics in America that generate more attention and interest than UFOs/UAPs.

One of the big reasons why is that there’s no clear answer for what is going on up in the sky or down in the ocean.

There are countless videos and stories about unexplainable sightings, but very few concrete answers. Well, prepare for things to get amped up.

Retired Navy admiral alleges UFOs might have ‘non-human’ control

Retired Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet is a leading voice in America when it comes to the UAP phenomenon, and he thinks whatever is going on…might not have a human explanation!

Gallaudet said the following, in part, on “Tomi Lahren Is Fearless” when discussing the subject:

I’ve not seen an alien, and we don’t even, that’s not really the best term in addition to extraterrestrial, because what we really don’t know is where they come from, what their nature is, and again, their intentions. The term that’s used in the UAP Disclosure Act and the Age of Disclosures film is non-human intelligence. That I can say, I know we are aware of higher order non-humans intelligence that direct the movement of these phenomena. I’ve not seen one, but then. What I do know is that the nature of some of these craft is so advanced that and so apparently are obviously under intelligent control that the only conclusion we can make and has been made by those that I’ve been read into these programs who I know is that there’s some kind of higher order non-human intelligence directing them. And I know this from the fact that and I’ve seen data videos of objects that are so clearly not ours or our adversaries, for example, objects that move between the ocean and the atmosphere and back without any visible interruption in disturbance of the sea surface and high rates of speed, we don’t have technology that can do that.

You can watch his full comments in the video below, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

UFO TASK FORCE EYED AS LAWMAKER WARNS OF STRANGE OBJECTS IN SKIES AND WATERS DEFYING KNOWN TECHNOLOGY

Not ideal if there are non-human entities roaming around controlling whatever is up in the sky. That’s a situation I’d very much like to avoid.

It’s almost surreal to even think about, but this claim isn’t coming from some random guy on the street. It’s coming from a retired Navy rear admiral.

That immediately brings extra gravity and seriousness to the claim. What I do know for sure is that the UFO topic isn’t going away. It’s here to stay until people get some answers that actually make sense.

Tories suspend leader at Worcestershire council after he made deal to oust Reform | Conservatives

0

The Conservatives have suspended the party’s leader at Worcestershire county council after he made a deal with the Greens and Liberal Democrats to oust Reform.

Reform UK gained control of the council a year ago but its tenure has been marked by a series of controversies and political infighting. This included a bitter leadership battle in which the now former Reform councillor Jo Monk was replaced as leader of the council in April.

At a full council meeting to elect a new leader on Thursday, the party lost minority control of the authority after the Conservatives teamed up with the Green party, Lib Dems and independents to form an alliance. The Green councillor Matt Jenkins is now leading the council.

Cllr Adam Kent, the leader of the Tory group in Worcestershire, was suspended from the party after the meeting. The Conservative party chair, Kevin Hollinrake MP, said it did not approve of an arrangement with the Greens and its position was “clear from the start”.

“[Kent] told the national party he would not do a deal with the Greens,” Hollinrake said. “Then he went ahead and put together a rainbow coalition involving Green councillors anyway.

“Worse, his group was told something that was not true. Fellow Conservative councillors were given the impression that this deal had party support when it did not. This was dishonest.”

Speaking to the BBC before his suspension, Kent said residents in Worcester had “suffered appallingly due to the instability of Reform” and “at some point, responsible councillors have to stop standing on the sidelines”.

“On national policy there are many areas where we continue to disagree with the Greens – however, local government is not Westminster,” he said.

It is unclear how his suspension will effect the coalition in Worcestershire.

Reform’s tenure there has attracted criticism after the council received £59.9m of emergency government funding and increased council tax by 9% to prevent bankruptcy. In March, Farage said he wished the party “hadn’t bothered” to take minority control of the country council. “Worcestershire, I have to say, we took minority control of a virtually bankrupt council, I wish we hadn’t bothered,” he said.

The council meeting on Thursday came after Monk was ousted as leader of Reform, after an internal party vote, and replaced by Cllr Alan Amos. Monk, who is now an independent, was suspended from the party for “refusing to accept the democratic decision of the Reform UK group” on Monday.

Reform took minority control of the council last year, gaining 27 councillors – two short of an overall majority.

Monk said she was suspended by Reform for refusing to step down as council leader.

David Taylor, a former Reform cabinet member who since quit the party, supported ousting the Reform administration in Thursday’s vote. He said he did not support the direction of the Reform administration, including the decision to increase council tax by 9%.

Asked whether the new power-sharing arrangement was workable, he said: “We’re not dealing with national policy, the vast majority – outside of adult social care and children’s social care – most residents contact talk about pothole and parking issues.

“So you would imagine at this level, adults can work together whatever their national ideology.”

Reform UK has been contacted for comment.

‘Duck Dynasty’ star’s son opens up about wife’s affair in new Lifetime film

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Al Robertson doesn’t believe a marriage always has to end after an affair.

The eldest son of Phil and Miss Kay Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” fame is joining his wife, Lisa Robertson, to confront their painful past in a new Lifetime film premiering Saturday titled “Faith & Forgiveness.” The movie reveals how Lisa became involved in an extramarital relationship 15 years into their union — and how their faith ultimately restored their relationship.

“When unfaithfulness happens in a marriage, so many times, that’s the end of it, but it doesn’t have to be,” Robertson told Fox News Digital. “Everything can be worked through.”

“I think the reason I was willing to fight for my marriage was that I had made a lot of mistakes on my own,” he admitted. “When I first met Lisa, she was actually a good girl, who had experienced some hard things in her life up until that point, but really was looking for what she called her ‘knight in shining armor,’ someone to take her hand and lead her out of some things. And I just wasn’t that guy in the early years.”

The couple first met in a McDonald’s parking lot in West Monroe, Louisiana, a popular teen hangout. Robertson was 17 and a senior, while Lisa was 15 and a sophomore. They dated on and off before tying the knot in 1984. After welcoming two girls, Robertson served as a pastor at a church where his family had been members for years. Lisa found herself lonely and isolated while her husband was away.

“To be quite honest with you, I made a huge mistake in not pulling Lisa in as a partner in what we were doing, in my career and my dreams,” said Robertson. “[She] was also dealing with all this internal stuff from when she was young. I just didn’t recognize it. I didn’t see it.”

Lisa told Fox News Digital that behind closed doors, she struggled with memories of her childhood.

“From an early age, at age 7, I was subjected to someone molesting me,” she explained. “I believe that at age 7, I began to be dishonest with who I was and what I was. I think the evil one played a huge part in that because he would constantly remind me. I believe I started on that trail of dishonesty at that point, and that darkness really began there. As I grew older, it got worse and worse.”

Years later, Lisa was contacted at work by an old boyfriend. She soon found herself caught up in an affair. During the summer of 1999, Robertson became suspicious that Lisa may have been seeing someone behind his back. She repeatedly denied his accusations.

“I had prayed all through this affair that God would open a door for me to walk away and that nobody would ever find out because I didn’t want to hurt Alan,” said Lisa. “I didn’t want to hurt our family. [But] I didn’t think [our marriage] would make it. If he ever found out, I just knew that it was over. I’m convinced that it’s going to be over, especially whenever he says, ‘I’m leaving.’ And I just knew it because he had always told me that. If I ever crossed the line, that would be the end of it.”

Robertson used cellphone records to piece together the truth. The couple then agreed on a temporary separation.

“I think for the first few weeks, I was leaning toward thinking that it was probably over,” he said. “I was just not sure if I could ever fully trust again. [I wasn’t] sure Lisa really wanted to be in our marriage. Do you really know if your spouse wants to stay? Do they want something more than you have to offer?”

Lisa recalls a moment when, overwhelmed and completely broken, she stepped into her backyard and cried out to God for forgiveness. During her prayer, she was fully honest with God about what she had done. She describes that moment as a turning point in her faith. She was ready to truly repent and begin a new life.

“The role of faith played a very significant part in my life,” she explained. “Once I turned my life over to the Lord, out in the backyard, when I finally called out to God, He came and met me right there in the backyard. From that day forward, I think I knew I could make it because I’d never called on Him before. I’d never asked for His help and asked Him to rescue me. [But] He came, and He rescued me. I think that was the most important thing I did.”

Lisa was not only baptized, but she surrounded herself with women who had already developed a strong foundation in their faith. Together they studied and uplifted each other. She, along with her husband, also pursued counseling.

“I changed the way I dressed,” said Lisa. “I changed the way I wore makeup. I changed what I listened to. I changed the way I approached men. I changed the way I talked because I had a potty mouth. I changed so many things.

“But the first thing was that I cried out to God. The second thing was to surround myself [with those women]. But then also the third thing was counseling — finding someone who could help me get rid of those negative things in my life and finally put those to rest.”

“What changed my mind and heart about Lisa was her,” he said. “It was obvious to me from talking to friends who were with her that she wanted this marriage to stay together. She was very sorry for what had happened. She had finally come to a reckoning in her own life. She was dealing with a lot of her past through counseling, through people who were helping her life.”

“I think out of my own appreciation for not only what God had done for me, but also what Lisa had done for me, it gave me that capacity to forgive infidelity,” said Robertson. “Her growth as a person and as a Christian in those early weeks is what won me over to say, ‘If she has the capacity to change who she is, like I did many years earlier, then I have the capacity to forgive as God forgives.’ That’s when it all changed. We knew we were going to find our way back together.”

Russia-Iran trust India, not Pakistan! Lavrov said- New Delhi can play a big role in US-Iran tension

0

After the meeting of BRICS Foreign Ministers, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov gave a big statement in New Delhi. He said that India can play a long-term mediation role in reducing the ongoing tension between America and Iran. Praising India’s diplomatic experience, global credibility and its growing influence in West Asia, Lavrov said that India can play an important role in regional peace.

Pakistan is immediately helping in talks
Lavrov said that at present Pakistan is helping in starting immediate talks between America and Iran, so that the current crisis can be handled. However, he indicated that India could be a more reliable and capable option for a long-term solution and permanent dialogue. He said, ‘If there is a need for long-term mediation between Iran and its Arab neighbours, India can play this role. India has vast diplomatic experience.

Why is India’s role considered important?
The Russian Foreign Minister said that India is one of the largest energy consumer countries in the world and has great dependence on oil supplies from West Asia. In such a situation, it is very important for India to maintain stability in the region. Lavrov said that being the BRICS chairperson, India can bring countries like Iran and UAE to the negotiating table, so that any major conflict can be prevented. He specifically mentioned the Strait of Hormuz, where increasing tensions could affect global oil supplies.

Not BRICS, but member countries can play a role
Lavrov clearly said that BRICS as an organization will not become a formal mediator, but its member countries can help in establishing peace at the individual level. He said, ‘The most important thing is to end the tension. BRICS should not become a mediator organization, but its member countries can help in dialogue and restoration of peace.

Accused America and Israel
Without naming any country, the Russian Foreign Minister alleged that some forces are trying to increase enmity between Iran and Arab countries. He said that America and Israel have a role behind the aggressive attitude against Iran. Lavrov said, ‘It is important to understand the root of every conflict. The provocative action of America and Israel is a big reason here.

PM Modi’s visit to Russia also confirmed
Lavrov also told that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Will visit Russia this year for BRICS summit. He said that preparations for this high level meeting have started. Describing India-Russia relations as strong, he said that cooperation in energy, trade and financial transactions between the two countries is continuously increasing.

Distance from dollar, emphasis on trade in national currencies
The Russian Foreign Minister said that India and Russia are now reducing dependence on the dollar and promoting trade in national currencies. He said that both the countries are moving towards such a financial system where the dominance of any one currency in global institutions is less.

Discussion again on India’s ‘peace ambassador’ image
After Lavrov’s statement, the discussion on India’s traditional diplomatic role has again intensified. India has already played an important role in mediation and peace efforts in the Korean War, Suez Crisis, Iran-Iraq War and UN peacekeeping missions. In recent years, India has been presenting itself as a country under the policy of ‘Vishwa Bandhu’, which supports dialogue and peaceful solution.

China-Iran rail corridor grows as US naval blockade fails to reach overland

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The U.S. is trying to choke off Iran’s economy at sea, but a growing China-linked rail corridor is giving Tehran a workaround that Washington cannot easily shut down without risking a wider conflict.

As freight traffic between China and Iran increases along an overland route beyond the reach of American warships, the dynamic is exposing a core limitation in the U.S. strategy: maritime pressure is powerful, but it doesn’t fully extend across Eurasia.

According to Bloomberg, cargo trains running from central China to Iran have jumped from roughly one per week before the blockade to one every three or four days, highlighting a growing alternative channel as Tehran looks to blunt maritime pressure.

The corridor runs through multiple sovereign countries, including Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, making it far more complex to disrupt than shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf.

Directly targeting that overland network would risk widening the conflict and escalating tensions with Beijing, which has spent years investing in trade routes designed to bypass maritime choke points dominated by the U.S. Navy.

That combination of geography, diplomacy and escalation risk helps explain why Washington has focused overwhelmingly on maritime interdiction rather than attempting to shut down overland trade routes.

Experts say the rail corridor remains limited in its ability to offset Iran’s main oil exports.

“There’s no substitute for a very large crude carrier,” Isaac Kardon, a senior fellow focused on Chinese strategy and maritime security, told Fox News Digital.

Kardon estimated that “maybe like 1% of the exports that Iran would typically be pushing out through Hormuz could go over land.”

Max Meizlish, a former Treasury official focused on sanctions policy, similarly described the rail corridor as “a drop in the bucket compared to Iran’s traditional oil exports over maritime transit routes.”

Still, analysts warn the route carries strategic risks beyond its limited scale.

Meizlish said the rail network “provides a pathway for China to supply Iran with critical dual use goods or just military logistical infrastructure” beyond the reach of U.S. naval enforcement.

Kardon pointed to similar concerns, including the potential movement of “parts for drones” and “missile precursor chemicals.”

Even so, Kardon emphasized the corridor cannot sustain large-scale economic or military flows.

“It’s a flow question,” he said. “Can you sustain the Iranian war-fighting effort solely with cargoes from China or from its other Eurasian neighbors? And I think the answer is really no.”

Taken together, the rail corridor is not an economic lifeline for Iran, but it underscores a broader shift as China builds trade networks designed to blunt U.S. pressure at sea and test the limits of how far Washington is willing to go to enforce its strategy.

Cisco discloses yet another SD-WAN make-me-admin 0-day

0

CISA hands feds super-tight deadline for this perfect-10, actively exploited flaw

Cisco admins face emergency patch duty after Switchzilla disclosed a max-severity make-me-admin bug affecting Catalyst SD-WAN Controller and Manager.

Switchzilla dropped an advisory for CVE-2026-20182 (10.0) on Thursday, saying that both components, formerly known as vSmart and vManage, were vulnerable in all deployment types, and that fixes were available.

The bug allows unauthenticated remote attackers to bypass authentication and gain admin privileges on an affected system.

According to Rapid7, whose researchers Stephen Fewer and Jonah Burgess found the vulnerability, attackers exploiting CVE-2026-20182 could then start issuing arbitrary NETCONF commands.

It means they could steal data, intercept traffic, manipulate an organization’s firewall rules, or just bring the network down, opening up opportunities for attackers of all stripes: state-backedfinancially motivatedhacktivists – you name it.

Offering a high-level overview of the vulnerability, Cisco said: “This vulnerability exists because the peering authentication mechanism in an affected system is not working properly. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted requests to the affected system.

“A successful exploit could allow the attacker to log in to an affected Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Controller as an internal, high-privileged, non-root user account. Using this account, the attacker could access NETCONF, which would then allow the attacker to manipulate network configuration for the SD-WAN fabric.”

Cisco confirmed that, in May 2026, it became aware that CVE-2026-20182 had been exploited as a zero-day, although it did not attribute the activity.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) also added CVE-2026-20182 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog, which is reserved for the security flaws that are both actively being exploited and threaten federal agencies.

The US cyber agency gave Federal Civilian Executive Branch agencies just three days to apply Cisco’s patches. While CISA has set similarly short deadlines before, they are rare and typically reserved for vulnerabilities deemed especially urgent. There was no word of the bug being exploited in ransomware attacks.

Cisco said in its advisory there are no workarounds available, and it “strongly recommends” applying the available fixes.

Any admin responsible for their org’s Cisco SD-WAN system should hunt through their logs, Cisco said, and be aware that indicators of compromise may appear among otherwise normal-looking operational logs.

Specifically, they should be auditing the auth.log file at /var/log/auth.log for entries related to Accepted publickey for vmanage-admin from unknown or unauthorized IP addresses. Then, check those IP addresses against the configured System IPs that are listed in the Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager web UI, the vendor said.

Cisco thanked the Rapid7 researchers, who first reported the vulnerability in early March after looking into a separate authentication bypass zero-day in Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Controller (CVE-2026-20127, 10.0) from February. ®

Deadly attack on Pakistan outpost puts Afghanistan ceasefire at risk | Pakistan Taliban News

0

Two assaults in the northwest region have killed more than 20 people in recent days, threatening Islamabad’s shaky truce with the Taliban.

An attack on a security compound in northwest Pakistan has killed several paramilitary officers, with the Afghan-based Pakistan Taliban (TTP) claiming responsibility.

An armed group rammed a vehicle filled with explosives into the Bajaur district camp’s gate on Thursday and then launched a gun battle, security sources said. It was the latest in a string of deadly incidents in the border region that threaten the fragile ceasefire between Islamabad and Kabul.

Recommended Stories

The vehicle triggered a “huge explosion,” one Pakistani official told Reuters news agency. The fighters then rushed the camp and opened “indiscriminate fire”.

Reports say that eight or nine Pakistani soldiers were killed in the attack. At least 10 of the attackers were killed, the AFP news agency reported, while about 35 security personnel were wounded.

A Reuters journalist in the town of Bajaur said the blast was felt at markets more than 20 kilometres (12 miles) from the compound. Images showed that most of the outpost’s structures had been destroyed or charred by flames.

Pakistani military troops reportedly shut down nearby roads and surrounded the compound, which is located on the mountainous border with Afghanistan.

Deadly attacks escalate

The Pakistan Taliban (TTP), which seeks to overthrow the Pakistani government via attacks launched from its base in the remote border area of Afghanistan, claimed responsibility for the attack.

The latest attack adds to several other assaults in the same region, which have killed more than 20 people in recent days.

A car bomb killed more than a dozen as it targeted a police post, while at least nine people were killed in an explosion at a market.

Three security personnel were wounded in Bajaur’s Inayat Killi area when a mortar shell landed inside another camp, officials told AFP.

Islamabad claims Afghanistan is harbouring the armed groups that carry out attacks inside Pakistan. Kabul denies the accusation, with tension between the South Asian neighbours surging since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021.

From February, this friction escalated into cross-border clashes between the two countries, and then into what Pakistan’s defence minister declared was “open war“.

A pause was agreed to in March, but sporadic violence broke out again. Islamabad and Kabul agreed last month to avoid escalation in China-brokered discussions.

However, the talks have not resulted in a formal agreement or ceasefire, leaving the situation volatile. The series of attacks over recent days threatens to ignite further hostilities between the two states.

The cross-border conflict has killed at least 372 Afghan civilians and injured nearly 400 others in the first three months of 2026 alone, the United Nations said earlier this week.
