March Madness fans took an early hit in this year’s tournament as nearly 36 million brackets were busted on Thursday following a string of early upsets in the first round.

The NCAA reported Friday that of the more than 36 million brackets filled out across major online sports platforms, roughly 14,000 perfect brackets remain through the first 16 games of the men’s tournament.

At the very least, that’s around 35,986,000 busted brackets.

The biggest bracket buster was No. 9 seed TCU’s narrow 66-64 victory over No. 8 seed Ohio State, which left just 14.5 million perfect brackets intact. Nebraska’s first-ever NCAA Tournament win over Troy, which was a brutal 76-47 beatdown, eliminated another 2.5 million brackets.

But it was the upsets that brought that figure down to over 14,000.

High Point’s improbable 83-82 win over No. 5 Wisconsin as the No. 12 seed did the most damage, bringing down the total number of flawless predictions to just 2.3 million, and that figure was cut in half again when Louisville survived USF, 83-79.

As the day went on, that number dipped below the million mark. But TCU’s historic comeback victory over UNC left a little more than 300,000 perfect brackets.

Saint Louis’ dominant win over Georgia and Gonzaga’s expected victory over Kennesaw State rounded out the day for just over 14,000 brackets intact, leaving only 0.039% of the original brackets flawless.

According to the NCAA, last year’s figure after the first day was 36,000. The lowest in recent memory was in 2021 when only 121 perfect brackets remained.

Iran’s Khamenei says enemy ‘defeated’ in written Nowruz message | US-Israel war on Iran News

0

Mojtaba Khamenei has not been seen in public since he replaced his slain father as Iran’s supreme leader.

Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has said Iran’s enemies were being “defeated” in a written message for the Persian New Year, as the US and Israel continue to pound the country with attacks.

In a statement read on Iranian television on Friday, Khamenei praised the steadfastness of the Iranian people marking Nowruz, which he said ushered in ‌the year of a “resistance economy under national unity and national security”.

“At the moment, due to the particular unity that has been created between you, our compatriots – despite all the differences in religious, intellectual, cultural and political origins – the enemy has been defeated,” he said.

Khamenei has not been seen in public since he became supreme leader, following the assassination of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, at the start of the war on February 28.

Iran’s supreme leader said that while the US and Israel believed that after one or two days of attacks, the Iranian people would overthrow the government, but this was a “gross miscalculation”.

The war was launched under “the delusion that if the pinnacle of the regime and certain influential military figures were to attain martyrdom, it would instil fear and despair in our dear people … and through this means, the dream of dominating Iran and subsequently dismembering it would be realised”, he said.

Instead, “a fracture has emerged in the enemy,” he added.

Analysts have observed that the Iranian constitution itself was drafted with the spectre of a power vacuum in mind, a “survival protocol” designed to give the system the capacity to continue even at a moment of maximum shock.

Khamenei also denied that Iran or its ‌allied forces were responsible for attacks against Turkiye and Oman.

Those were “false flag” incidents used by Iran’s enemy to “sow discord among neighbours, and it may occur in other countries as well”, he claimed.

The Turkish Ministry of National Defence last week said NATO air defences intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Iran. Two people were killed in Oman after drones came down in the Sohar province.

The supreme leader also called on Afghanistan and Pakistan to end their fighting and said he stood ready to assist.

“We consider our eastern neighbours to be very close to us”, the supreme leader said. “I appeal to our two brotherly countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan, to establish better relations with each other … and I myself am ready to take the necessary actions.”

The neighbouring countries agreed to a temporary “pause” in hostilities during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr this week, after weeks of deadly violence.

Newsom, Dem ‘love affair’ with criminals over, predicts sheriff surging in governor polls

Sheriff Chad Bianco, a Republican who is ranked at the top of recent California gubernatorial polls, believes that Californians finally have had enough and are ready to end Gov. Gavin Newsom and state Democratic leaders’ “sick and twisted love affair with criminals.”

A poll released Wednesday by the Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies shows that Bianco ranked a close second at 16% among support for candidates running for California governor. Fellow Republican Steve Hilton was ranked first within margin of error at 17%.

Both Republicans are ahead of the two top Democratic names, Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., and former Rep. Katie Porter, who are each at 13%.

Bianco, who leads one of the largest sheriff’s offices in the U.S., said in an interview with Fox News Digital that the shocking poll has a simple explanation: California has been prioritizing criminals and illegal immigrants above its own citizens. And after years under Newsom and decades of one-party Democratic rule, he said California is “worse off than it ever has been.”

GOP CANDIDATE CITES ‘FAILURE’ OF NEWSOM, DEMS AS NEW POLL SHOWS REPUBLICANS LEADING CROWDED CALIFORNIA FIELD

Bianco and other Republicans are gaining traction in early polling as crime, cost of living and immigration policies emerge as defining issues in California’s 2026 governor’s race. The state’s handling of public safety and quality-of-life concerns could be reshaping the political landscape in a traditionally Democratic stronghold, creating an opening for GOP candidates to compete.

“We’re leading in these polls because we are offering a better California,” Bianco said. “We are offering a commonsense California, and it’s resonating with people.”

Meanwhile, he said that Newsom and the Democrats’ “absolute refusal” to enforce the law is choking out California businesses.

“It’s no longer a cost of doing business,” he said. “It’s driving them out of business.”

“The weather only keeps you in California for so long,” he went on. “You can’t function here if you’re not safe. Our farming community is getting robbed blind, their equipment’s being stolen, their produce is being stolen … (and) our regular businesses are being robbed blind.”

Bianco granted that some statistics show crime is down. However, he asserted that this “makes it worse” because criminal classifications are being changed to obscure the true extent of crime in California.

In 2014, before Newsom’s time in the governor’s mansion, California voters voted in favor of a proposition that reduced the penalties for some crimes, such as drug possession and shoplifting, from felonies to misdemeanors.

“Things that were a crime 14 years ago are no longer a crime, so they don’t get reported,” said Bianco. “Things that used to be crimes aren’t crimes, but we’re still feeling it.”

From his time as Riverside sheriff and speaking with other law enforcement leaders, Bianco believes that California politicians have effectively tied law enforcement’s hands behind their backs.

“If people are not safe, if people’s kids aren’t safe at school, if they’re not safe in the park, if people aren’t safe going to the grocery store at night, they’re not going to want to live here. And that’s why for the last five years in a row, California has lost residents.”

That, Bianco said, is where California’s sanctuary policies enter.

California prohibits state and local law enforcement from using resources to enforce or investigate federal immigration violations and restricts cooperation with ICE, except in certain cases, including for individuals convicted of specified serious or qualifying offenses.

California also restricts immigration enforcement in sensitive locations like schools and hospitals by requiring a judicial warrant for access to nonpublic areas and limiting institutional cooperation with federal authorities. The state also has passed a law requiring agents to show identification and limiting the use of face coverings, though its enforcement has been challenged and remains legally contested.

“They know it’s a disaster; they refuse to stop it,” he said. “So, instead, they import illegal immigrants into the state and then give them free stuff on our backs. They take all our taxpayer money and give them free healthcare, free medical, free school, free everything, free money to live on.”

“Everyone is just tired of it,” he went on, noting, “even Democrats know, they can’t vote Democrat this time.”

Meanwhile, Bianco posited that the path back to sanity in California is being led by law enforcement

He has been endorsed by a slate of 52 law enforcement leaders and groups, including the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County and the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), which is the largest law enforcement organization in the state and represents more than 86,000 public safety members and more than 960 associations.

Notably, PORAC also endorsed Democrat Antonio Villaraigosa in the race.

“Law enforcement is completely behind me,” said Bianco.

“California is in dire, desperate search of someone that they can trust that is going to be honest and transparent with them,” he said. “They all realize, if you employ common sense, send the law guy that’s been doing it for so long, to fix the corruption and the crime.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Newsom for comment but did not receive a statement.

A rumored frontrunner for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, Newsom repeatedly has emphasized that crime in California is on the decline.

Newsom’s office recently released a statement showing that during his tenure California has invested $1.7 billion “to fight crime, help local governments hire more police, and improve public safety.”

Newsom’s office said that his 2023 allocation of $267 million to 55 communities to combat retail crime was “part of the largest-ever state investment to fight organized retail crime.”

Commenting on this investment, Newsom said in a January press release, “These operations continue to send a clear message: California will not tolerate organized crime that preys on working families, small businesses, and local communities.”

Amidst the ongoing war with Israel and America, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mujtaba Khamenei on Friday (March 20, 2026) congratulated his countrymen and Muslims around the world on Persian New Year (Nowruz) and Eid-ul-Fitr. He said that I congratulate the Muslims of the whole world on Eid.

While giving a message to the people of the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Supreme Leader said that this year the spiritual spring and the spring of nature have come together, which makes both these festivals even more special. This is the time to strengthen unity, patience and faith.

Last year the people of Iran fought three battles: Khamenei

In his address, he said that last year the people of Iran faced three major military and security related challenges, but the people showed courage and determination. He alleged that the enemies tried to spread fear and despair in the country by attacking Iran, but they could not prevail in their intentions. We are fully prepared to fight global arrogance beyond missiles and drone attacks.

Israel accused of creating false conspiracies

Expressing confidence, the Supreme Leader said that unity among the people of Iran will become stronger and those who oppose will have to face embarrassment. He said that Israel is trying to create differences between Iran and its neighboring countries through false conspiracies.

Expressed condolences towards those killed in the war

Along with this, he expressed condolences to the so-called second imposed war, the January coup, the third imposed war and the families of those martyred on the security and border. He said that the country will always remember the sacrifice of these martyrs and the entire country stands in solidarity with their families. In the end, he termed the special combination of Navroz and Eid ul Fitr as a symbol of positive energy and unity for the country.

The enemy was confused during the first war: Khamenei

Mujtaba Khamenei further said that during the first war in June, the enemy had the illusion that the people themselves would oust the Islamic regime from power, but due to the vigilance of the people and the unparalleled bravery of the fighters of Islam, a glimpse of despair began to appear in the enemy and in the end it had to save itself through mediation and ceasefire.

Critical Langflow Flaw CVE-2026-33017 Triggers Attacks within 20 Hours of Disclosure

0

Critical Langflow Flaw

A critical security flaw impacting Langflow has come under active exploitation within 20 hours of public disclosure, highlighting the speed at which threat actors weaponize newly published vulnerabilities.

The security defect, tracked as CVE-2026-33017 (CVSS score: 9.3), is a case of missing authentication combined with code injection that could result in remote code execution.

“The POST /api/v1/build_public_tmp/{flow_id}/flow endpoint allows building public flows without requiring authentication,” according to Langflow’s advisory for the flaw.

“When the optional data parameter is supplied, the endpoint uses attacker-controlled flow data (containing arbitrary Python code in node definitions) instead of the stored flow data from the database. This code is passed to exec() with zero sandboxing, resulting in unauthenticated remote code execution.”

The vulnerability affects all versions of the open-source artificial intelligence (AI) platform prior to and including 1.8.1. It has been currently addressed in the development version 1.9.0.dev8.

Security researcher Aviral Srivastava, who discovered and reported the flaw on February 26, 2026, said it’s distinct from CVE-2025-3248 (CVSS score: 9.8), another critical bug in Langflow that abused the /api/v1/validate/code endpoint to execute arbitrary Python code without requiring any authentication. It has since come under active exploitation, per the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

“CVE-2026-33017 is in /api/v1/build_public_tmp/{flow_id}/flow,” Srivastava explained, adding that the root cause stems from the use of the same exec() call as CVE-2025-3248 at the end of the chain.

“This endpoint is designed to be unauthenticated because it serves public flows. You can’t just add an auth requirement without breaking the entire public flows feature. The real fix is removing the data parameter from the public endpoint entirely, so public flows can only execute their stored (server-side) flow data and never accept attacker-supplied definitions.”

Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to send a single HTTP request and obtain arbitrary code execution with the full privileges of the server process. With this privilege in place, the threat actor can read environment variables, access or modify files to inject backdoors or erase sensitive data, and even obtain a reverse shell.

Srivastava told The Hacker News that exploiting CVE-2026-33017 is “extremely easy” and can be triggered by means of a weaponized curl command. One HTTP POST request with malicious Python code in the JSON payload is enough to achieve immediate remote code execution, he added.

Cloud security firm Sysdig said it observed the first exploitation attempts targeting CVE-202633017 in the wild within 20 hours of the advisory’s publication on March 17, 2026.

“No public proof-of-concept (PoC) code existed at the time,” Sysdig said. “Attackers built working exploits directly from the advisory description and began scanning the internet for vulnerable instances. Exfiltrated information included keys and credentials, which provided access to connected databases and potential software supply chain compromise.”

Threat actors have also been observed moving from automated scanning to leveraging custom Python scripts in order to extract data from “/etc/passwd” and deliver an unspecified next-stage payload hosted on “173.212.205[.]251:8443.” Subsequent activity from the same IP address points in a thorough credential harvesting operation that involves gathering environment variables, enumerating configuration files and databases, and extracting the contents of .env files.

This suggests planning on part of the threat actor by staging the malware to be delivered once a vulnerable target is identified. “This is an attacker with a prepared exploitation toolkit moving from vulnerability validation to payload deployment in a single session,” Sysdig noted. It’s currently not known who is behind the attacks.

The 20-hour window between advisory publication and first exploitation aligns with an accelerating trend that has seen the median time-to-exploit (TTE) shrinking from 771 days in 2018 to just hours in 2024.

According to Rapid7’s 2026 Global Threat Landscape Report, the median time from publication of a vulnerability to its inclusion in CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog dropped from 8.5 days to five days over the past year.

“This timeline compression poses serious challenges for defenders. The median time for organizations to deploy patches is approximately 20 days, meaning defenders are exposed and vulnerable for far too long,” it added. “Threat actors are monitoring the same advisory feeds that defenders use, and they are building exploits faster than most organizations can assess, test, and deploy patches. Organizations must completely reconsider their vulnerability programs to meet reality.”

Users are advised to update to the latest patched version as soon as possible, audit environment variables and secrets on any publicly exposed Langflow instance, rotate keys and database passwords as a precautionary measure, monitor for outbound connections to unusual callback services, and restrict network access to Langflow instances using firewall rules or a reverse proxy with authentication.

The exploration activity targeting CVE-20253248 and CVE-2026-33017 underscores how AI workloads are landing in attackers’ crosshairs owing to their access to valuable data, integration within the software supply chain, and insufficient security safeguards.

“CVE-2026-33017 […] demonstrates a pattern that is becoming the norm rather than the exception: critical vulnerabilities in popular open-source tools are weaponized within hours of disclosure, often before public PoC code is even available,” Sysdig concluded.
