2000 people have died in Iran so far, Tehran angry at America and Israel, know what they said

0

Fouad Izadi, associate professor at Tehran University, described the joint attacks by America and Israel as ‘illegal’ and said that more than 2,000 civilians were killed in these attacks, including 165 girls. He called it an unnecessary war and said that Iran was no threat to America.

American pressure and Israel’s hand
Izadi claimed that the attack took place under pressure from Israel. He said that Israel is using American troops to establish dominance in this region. He says that this has created difficulties not only for Iran but also for many other countries including India. Israel’s aim is to gain control of Iranian oil, as they did during a coup in 1953.

Iranian retaliation and defense of oil facilities
The Iranian professor said that Iran initially attacked only American military bases because they are valid military targets. He said that Iran did not target oil facilities until Iranian oil facilities were attacked from the other side. He says oil refineries are not normally legitimate military targets, but when our side was attacked, Iran had no choice but to respond.

international influence
According to Izadi, this conflict is not only affecting energy supply and political stability at the regional but also global level. His statement shows the seriousness of the increasing tension between Iran and Western countries.

Newly released police video shows Justin Timberlake struggling through field sobriety tests during a 2024 Hamptons traffic stop that led to his arrest on suspicion of drunk driving.

Timberlake was arrested in June 2024 after police suspected him of driving drunk. He later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving while ability impaired and received community service, along with issuing a public apology, as part of a plea agreement.

The roughly eight-hour footage shows the “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” singer’s initial stop after Sag Harbor police said he ran a stop sign, veered out of his lane and exited his BMW smelling of alcohol.

After being pulled over, an officer asked Timberlake why he was in town. He responded, “I’m on a world tour.”

The officer replied, “You are Justin Timberlake? Do you have a license with you?”

The body camera video shows Timberlake struggling to follow instructions as officers asked him to walk heel-to-toe in a straight line and stand on one leg.

As officers explained the instructions, he apologized, telling them, “My heart’s racing.”

“I’m a little nervous,” Timberlake said.

In the back seat of the police car, he asked, “Why are you arresting me?”

Timberlake was later informed at the police station that he would be held overnight, prompting him to say, “I’m going to be here all night? You guys are wild, man.”

Earlier this month, Timberlake sued Sag Harbor Village and the police department in an attempt to block the release of body camera footage.

In a petition seeking to block the release of the footage, Timberlake’s legal team said it was notified March 1 of the police department’s intention to respond to a request under the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) to release the body camera footage, which would include redactions for medical and security reasons.

Timberlake argued the footage “contains personally identifying information and private details that are not germane to any law enforcement action of public concern and that would not otherwise be visible to the public but for the presence and recording of law enforcement officers.”

On Friday, however, Timberlake’s lawyers said in a joint filing with the village that the video “does not constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy” under state law and agreed to its release.

How FDI can transform India’s gold and jewelery export ecosystem

0

India’s gold and jewelery sector is a storied titan—employing over 4.6 million artisans and contributing nearly 7 per cent to total merchandise exports. Yet, despite this cultural legacy, India’s share in the global fine jewelery market remains modest relative to its craftsmanship depth. The missing catalyst is sustained, strategic Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

FDI in this sector is not merely a capital story; it is a structural transformation story. As global supply chains seek a “China + 1” alternative, India stands at a crossroads. Targeted investment can rewire supply chains and reposition the industry from a fragmented cottage industry to a technologically sophisticated manufacturing hub.

The infrastructure and connectivity imperative

India’s jewelery hubs—Surat, Mumbai, Jaipur and Thrissur—punch above their weight but remain constrained by fragmented infrastructure. The next decade requires FDI-backed integrated jewelery parks that combine assaying labs, cold-chain logistics and design studios under one roof.

Beyond physical assets, FDI acts as a strategic bridge for the natural diamond trade. It facilitates the convergence of global miners, luxury retailers and institutional traders within Indian bourses. By attracting international majors, India transforms from a back-end processing center into a global networking hub where the world’s diamond players meet to fulfill global demand.

Technology: Traceability and the LGD revolution

A significant barrier to capturing premium markets like the US and EU is traceability. Discerning buyers demand proof of ethical sourcing. FDI from global luxury conglomerates can fast-track digital transformation—from blockchain-enabled provenance to AI-assisted quality grading.

The surge in Lab-Grown Diamonds (LGDs) also presents a frontier. By attracting foreign investment in MPCVD technology, India can lead the sustainable luxury movement. Joint ventures pairing India’s manufacturing scale with international compliance will ensure domestic players meet the EU’s upcoming supply chain due diligence regulations, turning potential non-tariff barriers into a competitive advantage.

Regulatory predictability and skilling

While the Duty Drawback system is automated via ICEGATE, the fixed-rate nature often leaves a gap in duty neutralization during price spikes. Strategic FDI thrives on predictability; integrating an ad-valorem (value-based) mechanism and ensuring seamless liquidity through faster GST refunds would shift investor confidence from “cautious” to “committed.”

Furthermore, FDI’s multiplier effect upgrades human capital. International investors bring global design sensibilities and market access networks. Structured FDI partnerships that include mandatory skilling—CAD/CAM training and advanced finishing techniques—will build a workforce capable of producing jewelery that commands global premium pricing, rather than just volume margins.

The strategic window

India is currently negotiating Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with the UK, EU and GCC—markets representing the world’s highest per-capita jewelery spending. FDI inflows today will determine whether Indian exporters enter these agreements as price-takers or value-creators.

The government’s mandate for hallmarking and the recent rationalization of import duties are encouraging signals. However, to truly globalise, the sector must bridge the gap between traditional artistry and industrial scale. The gold is already in our hands; strategic FDI is the tool that will turn it into a global crown.

Dispute increases in Punjab and Rajasthan regarding Sutlej river water, Bhajanlal Sharma government’s reply on royalty demand

0

The dispute between Punjab and Rajasthan governments regarding the water of Sutlej river has deepened. The Rajasthan government has now responded to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s demand for royalty of Rs 1.44 lakh crore on Sutlej river water. Bhajanlal Sharma government of Rajasthan has said that demanding royalty for water is completely wrong.

The British government had made an agreement in the year 1920

The British government had made a compromise in the year 1920. Providing or withholding water is not the responsibility of any one state but of the Centre. The Central Water Commission monitors it. Rajasthan Water Resources Department Minister Suresh Rawat said, “One state cannot take money from another state in exchange for water.” No money is made from any kind of royalty.

Rajasthan government will not give any money in exchange for water – Suresh Rawat

Rajasthan Minister Suresh Rawat further said, “Rajasthan government will not give any money in exchange for water. This is a complete political conspiracy. Bhagwant Mann is trying to create an atmosphere in Punjab before the elections. Rajasthan government is ready for meetings and talks but will not give any money. Despite the controversy, there will be no problem of drinking water in Rajasthan. Rajasthan has enough water for this summer season.

What did Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann say?

Whereas, the Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Maan Had said, “During the British era, under the agreement signed with Bikaner in 1920, 18,000 cusecs of water was continuously provided from Punjab till 1960, but after the Indus Water Agreement, no mention was made of this arrangement. If we calculate the dues from 1960 to 2026, then Rajasthan owes Punjab Rs 1.44 lakh crore.
