
The weather in Bihar suddenly took a turn after noon on Friday (20 March). Even though there was not much change in the temperature during the day, by evening, strong winds and clouds changed the atmosphere of the entire state. In many districts, strong winds started blowing after three to four o’clock, due to which the temperature dropped.
The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for many districts since Saturday (21 March) morning. Especially in the areas of North and South Bihar, there is a possibility of strong wind, light to moderate rain and thunderstorm. The wind speed is likely to be 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.
There is a risk of rain and lightning till 10 am in many districts including Patna, Gaya, Begusarai, Nalanda, Rohtas, Bhojpur, Buxar, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Saran, Siwan, Vaishali and Gopalganj.
Orange alert issued in some districts
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Katihar, Kishanganj and Araria districts. The situation may be more serious in these areas. There is a possibility of wind blowing at the speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour, hailstorm and heavy rain. Besides, the danger of lightning also remains high.
The weather had worsened further on Friday evening. Red alert was issued in 15 districts of the state. There was heavy rain along with thunderstorm in many districts including Gaya, Sasaram and Aurangabad. Hail also fell in Katihar, Araria and Vaishali.
The saddest news came from Gaya district, where two people died in Wazirganj and Dumariya after being hit by lightning. The districts where there was red alert included Araria, Begusarai, Darbhanga, Katihar, Khagaria, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Muzaffarpur, Purnia, Saharsa, Samastipur, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Supaul and Vaishali.

There was not much change in the day temperature on Friday, but after night there was a drop in the minimum temperature. The day temperature is likely to drop by three to four degrees on Saturday.
The maximum temperature in Rajgir (Nalanda) was recorded at 36.01 degrees Celsius, while in Patna it was 33.6 degrees. Whereas the lowest temperature was recorded in Madhepura at 29.4 degrees Celsius.
Weather expected to become normal from Sunday
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of bad weather will be visible till Saturday, but it is a matter of relief that the weather may become normal from Sunday. At present, people have been advised to remain alert, especially during bad weather, they have been asked to avoid leaving the house and stay in a safe place.
