A “violent” prisoner with gang affiliations who is due for deportation is on the run for the second time in a week, Sky News understands. 

Police are hunting for Daniel Boakye after he escaped from police custody in a hospital in Lewisham, south London.

Boakye, 21, had been serving time at HMP Feltham for robbery charges. He is understood to be violent, has gang connections, and is due for deportation to Ghana.

He had already gone missing after freeing himself from prison custody at West Middlesex University Hospital in the early hours of 10 February.

The prison service said at the time they were “urgently” working with the Metropolitan Police, and were investigating how he was able to escape from hospital.

Officers located him at an address in Thamesmead, southeast London, on Wednesday afternoon.

On Sunday, Boakye again absconded from policy custody, this time at Lewisham Hospital, where he had been receiving medical treatment.

Police are now appealing for information to help them find him.

“Officers gave chase, but could not detail Boakye before he left the building,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson told Sky News.

“He is 21 years old, black, of medium height and slim build. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, and a dark Nike jacket, when he absconded.”

Progressive panelists clashed over their response to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez‘s viral foreign policy comments after one attempted to defend the “Squad” member on Monday.

YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen and “The Young Turks” commentator Ana Kasparian joined a panel on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” where they discussed Ocasio-Cortez struggling to answer whether the U.S. should commit to sending troops to defend Taiwan.

“Um, you know, I think that this is such a, you know, I think that this is a um — this is, of course, a, um, very long-standing, um, policy of the United States,” she stammered before answering the question.

Though both conservative and liberal commentators have criticized Ocasio-Cortez’s comments, Cohen called the backlash “super unfair” considering the topic.

“I think what she’s basically being asked here is if the U.S. should, like, engage in what may be tantamount to a war with the other biggest global superpower on Earth,” Cohen said. “And like, that’s not an easy question.”

“I actually think, yeah, she stammered in the beginning, and God knows that we’ve all stammered in the beginning of difficult questions,” he continued. “But I think that her answer was that we need to engage in diplomacy so that it doesn’t get to that point is a perfectly acceptable answer and frankly, a much better answer than Donald Trump saying, ‘No, we do need to like, annex Greenland or bomb Cuba or take over the Panama Canal.’”

Cohen repeated that he would “a thousand times out of a thousand” accept Ocasio-Cortez’s response over President Donald Trump’s “era of imperialism.”

“I think that’s a false choice, and you know that,” Kasparian interrupted. “I think we need to have higher standards for Democrats.”

Although Kasparian said she agreed with Cohen’s criticism of the Trump administration’s foreign policy, she argued that it was not an excuse to ignore the flaws in Democratic candidates.

“In regard to Democratic candidates, we have to stop providing cover for their mediocrity. That answer was terrible and you know it. So don’t provide cover for it,” Kasparian said.

“So tell me what you think would have been a more acceptable answer,” Cohen asked.

“A sensible answer would have been exactly what you said, which you claim she said, but she didn’t say that. You read that from her statements, but her statement was more than just clamoring. It was just a bunch of word salad nonsense because she’s not an expert on foreign policy. This is a weak spot for her,” Kasparian said.

She continued, “So this is an area where she should have done a lot more homework before deciding to speak at the Munich Security Conference as she did at this panel. She didn’t know what she was talking about. She was blindsided by the question, and it doesn’t look good. Let’s just be honest about it rather than providing cover for it.”

Several moderate and liberal commentators have admitted that Ocasio-Cortez’s comments were “not great,” with some going as far as to call them “one of the bigger mistakes” of her career.

Talking to The New York Times about the reaction to the trip, Ocasio-Cortez said she went to Munich “not because I’m running for president, not because I’ve made some kind of decision about a horse race or a candidacy, but because we need to sound the alarm bells that a lot of those folks in nicely pressed suits in that room will not be there much longer if we do not do something about the runaway inequality that is fueling far-right populist movements.” 

Comedian Kunal Kamra and Shiv Sena leader Sushma Andhare appeared before the Privileges Committee of the Maharashtra Legislature in the matter of singing a satirical song on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. However, due to the absence of the original complainant, BJP leader Praveen Darekar, the next hearing of the case will now be held on March 10. This information was given by committee chairman Prasad Lad.

Praveen Darekar had presented a breach of privilege motion against both of them. Due to this proposal, Kunal Kamra came to Mumbai after about a year and appeared before the committee. Sushma Andhare was also present at that time. But the original complainant Praveen Darekar could not attend due to some reason. Therefore, now the next hearing will be held on March 10. On that day the complainant and the accused party will record their statements face to face.

After the hearing, Kunal Kamra said, “I believe in the Constitution. Today I appeared before the Privileges Committee, but the hearing did not take place. I will be present on the next date also. I will answer the allegations leveled against me at the same time.” During this time he had arrived wearing a T-shirt with ‘The Constitution of India’ written on it.

Sushma Andhare said that the related studio was vandalized after Kamra read the poem. He said, “We have sought information about the allegations leveled against us. First, the statement of the original complainant Praveen Darekar should be recorded, only then we will present our views. Why our views were not heard today, the committee will answer.”

Andhare alleged that Eknath Shinde BJP did not bring the privilege motion itself, but BJP leaders brought it so that the word ‘traitor’ comes up again and again in the House and remains in people’s attention. He also raised the question that Kunal Kamra had Narendra Modi But he has written poems many times, then why did the BJP leaders not object at that time?

Committee Chairman Prasad Lad said that the statements of Kunal Kamra and Sushma Andhare were to be recorded today, but due to the absence of the original complainant, this was not done under the legal provisions. Now on March 10, Praveen Darekar’s statement will be recorded in front of Kamra and Andhare, and Kamra and Andhare’s side will also be recorded in front of them.
