Ballia Police of UP has exposed the blind murder case. Police have arrested three accused involved in the murder, a woman is also included among the accused. In this case, two others including a woman are absconding, in search of whom the police team is conducting raids.
According to the police, on February 10, 2026, at around 10 am, a dead body was found in the bushes in Lohta village adjacent to Chilkahar-Natthopur Lohta road in Rasra police station area. In relation to which, a joint police team of SWAT/Surveillance and Rasra police station was engaged to identify the dead body and unveil the incident.
The dead body was found in the forest on 10 February
Superintendent of Police Ballia Omveer Singh said that on February 10, a dead body was found in the forest of Lohta village in Rasra police station area. Efforts were made to identify the body but it could not be identified for three days. He said that as per the rules, post-mortem of the body was done after 72 hours and the last rites were performed.
Missing person was registered in Azamgarh police station.
SP said that the body was later identified as that of Pankaj Gupta, who was originally a resident of Azamgarh. He said that when the joint team of SWAT surveillance and police station Rasra conducted a thorough investigation, it came to light that his missing date was written on 7th in Phulpur police station of Azamgarh.
Pankaj had relations with a woman from the same village.
He said that the deceased, Pankaj Gupta, had a relationship with a woman in a village in the same police station area, Saraymir. During interrogation, it has come to light that the accused, who is also an accused in this case, was already married before marriage. Despite that, deceased Pankaj Gupta kept trying to establish contact with him.
Pankaj had objectionable pictures of the woman
He said that it has also come to notice that Pankaj had some objectionable photos and videos. The main accused in this is his brother Vijay Pal who is a resident of the same place. Her in-laws house is in Gadwar police station area of Ballia. There was a wedding here on the 5th in which all the accused had come. Here when the accused told her problem to all the family members.
Pankaj was called to Ballia as part of planning
After this, people called him as per planning, when he came on 7th. Accused Vijay Pal and the accused received him from the railway station and took him to the spot of incident on a motorcycle. During this time there was a fight among themselves, during that time since the accused parties were ready, they caused the incident.
Police recovered the mobile phone of the deceased
SP said that today all three involved in this incident, Vijay Pal, Manish (Vijay Pal’s brother-in-law), and Vijay Pal’s wife, have been arrested. Whereas Arun Soni and his wife involved in the incident have not been arrested yet. Police said that at the behest of the accused, the mobile phone of the deceased and the bike used in the incident have been recovered.
Toilet cleaner was poured on the dead body
Police also said that, to hide the identity of the dead body, the accused had poured toilet cleaner on the dead body so that the face could not be seen clearly. He was cut with a knife and before that he was strangled with a rope. All three accused involved in the incident have been produced in the court and sent to jail. Also, the search for other accused is going on.
