A case of a 3 year old innocent boy falling into a borewell has come to light in a village in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh. This incident took place in Jhalaria village of Badnagar tehsil, where a two and a half year old child fell into a borewell while playing on Thursday (April 9) evening. As soon as the child fell, there was panic in the village and a rapid rescue operation was started. The child is being monitored through cameras and oxygen is being supplied through pipes.
According to the police, this accident happened in Jhalaria village of Badnagar tehsil, about 75 km from Ujjain. Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDOP) Mahendra Singh Parmar said that information about the incident was received between 7-7.30 pm and immediately the police team reached the spot. He said that the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) team and other related teams have also reached the incident site. Parmar told that the child is stuck in the borewell at a depth of about 60 feet. Beyond that the borewell is narrow and there is water below.
Rescue operation continues rapidly
He said, “A pipe for oxygen has been inserted into the borewell for the child. His movements are being monitored through cameras.” According to local officials, all the shepherds were staying with the sheep in the forest about one kilometer away from the village. On receiving the information, District Magistrate Roshan Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma also reached the spot. Singh said that the SDRF team has reached the incident site and has started the rescue operation. He said that JCB and Poklane machine are also present at the incident site. Police station in-charge Ashok Patidar, who reached the spot after getting information about the accident, also said that the rescue operation is going on at a fast pace.
He told that oxygen is being supplied to the child with the help of a tube. He told that the child has been identified as Bhagirath, two and a half year old son of sheep herder Praveen Dewasi. He said that on Thursday evening the family was busy in their work and the child was playing in the field. He said that his father and his family members were looking after the sheep at some distance nearby. Meanwhile the child fell into the borewell. He told that Praveen Devasi had come here three days ago from Gudanla in Pali district of Rajasthan with his family to graze sheep.
