Very sad news has come out from Kuno National Park located in Sheopur. Here all four cubs of female cheetah KGP12 have been found dead. When the monitoring team reached the forest area of Sheopur Territorial Division on the morning of 12 May, they found dead bodies of cubs lying near the den.
According to the Forest Department, the bodies of the cubs were found in partially mutilated condition. In the initial investigation, it is suspected that some wild predatory animal might have attacked them. However, the real cause of death will become clear only after the post mortem report comes. It has been told that these cubs were born on 11 April 2026 and their age was only one month. The monitoring team last saw all the cubs alive on the evening of 11 May.

The Forest Department has informed that the female cheetah KGP12 is completely safe and healthy. At present, surveillance has been increased in the entire area and security arrangements have been tightened. Officials have also said that all the other leopards present in the park are healthy. After this incident, the Cheetah project has suffered a major setback. According to the field director, now there are a total of 50 leopards left in Kuno National Park, which includes 33 Indian-born leopards. There are 3 leopards present in Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary. In this way the total number of leopards in the country is now 53.
