
Pradeep, the accused who committed a sensational incident in the beach market in Bahsuma police station area of Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, has surrendered before the police 24 hours after the incident. On Wednesday, Pradeep publicly shot dead his wife Poonam’s lover Sunil. The video of the surrender made by the accused in filmy style after the police siege is now going viral on social media.
Giving information about the incident, Meerut SSP Avinash Pandey said that the police had received information from the informer that after the incident, the accused Pradeep was hiding in a sugarcane field. As soon as the information was received, heavy police force from several police stations under the leadership of CO Mawana Pankaj Lavania surrounded the area. Seeing himself surrounded from all sides, Pradeep took out his pistol and started threatening to shoot himself if the police came near him, due to which a situation of great tension was created on the spot.
The pain of going round the police stations for one and a half years
In this tense situation, CO Pankaj Lavania showed wisdom and tried to calm Pradeep down. He assured that no atrocities will be done to him if he surrenders. However, Pradeep was adamant that SP Dehat should be called on the spot. The accused made serious allegations against the police and said that he had been making rounds of the police for the last one and a half years for justice, but he was not heard anywhere. For this reason he had lost faith in the police.

The police officers and local villagers present at the spot wooed the accused for a long time. After much persuasion, Pradeep calmed down. He first drank water and then smoked a beedi very leisurely. After this, he placed the three pistols and cartridges he had on the ground one by one. After laying down his arms, he himself went and sat in the police jeep. SSP Avinash Pandey has officially confirmed the arrest of the accused and the police has started taking further legal action.
