
India has rejected the allegations made by Pakistan regarding the recent blast in Karachi. The Foreign Ministry has termed these allegations as completely baseless. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, while reprimanding Pakistan, also advised it to look within itself.
What did the Foreign Ministry say?
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the allegations made by Pakistan against India regarding the Karachi incident are baseless. He said that instead of pointing fingers at others, Pakistan should look within itself. Randhir Jaiswal said that it should take credible action against the terrorist infrastructure present on its soil. He said Pakistan should also abandon its tendency to use terrorism as an instrument of state policy.
What allegations did Pakistan make?
After the terrorist attack on a camp of Sindh Rangers in Karachi city, ISPR, the media wing of Pakistan Army, had held India responsible for this attack. Pakistan had made false allegations by calling the attacking banned organization Jamaat-ul-Ahrar an ‘Indian-backed organisation’. Not only this, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also alleged that India is promoting such groups in the entire region, which carry out terrorist attacks on its soil.
Many soldiers died in Karachi attack
Four security personnel and six armed attackers were killed and one injured attacker was arrested in a terrorist attack on Gulistan-e-Johar Camp of Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) in Karachi, Pakistan late on Saturday night.
Pakistan Army’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement issued on Sunday claimed that the attack was carried out by terrorists associated with Jamaat-ul-Ahrar.
Jamaat-ul-Ahrar is a splinter group of the banned organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). According to Xinhua news agency, after the explosion and firing, law enforcement agencies started clearance operations in the entire area. The body of a suspected suicide bomber was recovered during the operation.
According to ISPR, the armed men first blasted the main gate of the camp and then tried to enter the complex. However, the Rangers personnel retaliated promptly and foiled their plans. The statement said six terrorists were killed during the encounter, while one injured, an Afghan national, was arrested.
Four security personnel were killed in this firing, while four other soldiers were injured.
