New Delhi. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has banned former international cricketer Manjarul Islam from being directly or indirectly involved in any cricket activity under its jurisdiction after investigating allegations of misconduct. This decision was taken after the board meeting held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday. It is noteworthy that former Bangladesh women’s cricket team captain Jahanara Alam had filed a complaint against Manjrul. He had accused Manjrul of sexual harassment during the 2022 World Cup.

According to the board, four allegations made by Jahanara were investigated, out of which two claims could not be confirmed due to insufficient evidence. At the same time, the committee has found evidence of inappropriate conduct in the remaining two charges. Manjrul’s tenure as selector and manager of the women’s team ended in June last year. In the investigation, the Committee has found that his conduct was not in accordance with professional standards and falls within the definition of misconduct and harassment under the relevant Supreme Court guidelines.
