This PIL has been filed by Shirshanya Bandopadhyay, who is the son of TMC leader and senior lawyer Kalyan Banerjee. In the petition, many questions have been raised regarding the investigation and legal process of post-election violence and related matters.
Politics heated up in the state over allegations of violence after elections
According to sources, Mamata Banerjee can raise questions on many aspects of the hearing and investigation process of the case in the court. It is believed that she will try to know on what basis the investigation of the case is proceeding and what facts have been taken into consideration. The hearing of this case in the Calcutta High Court has already been much discussed, because the politics of the state has been heated for a long time over the allegations of post-poll violence.
