Shocking information is coming to light every day in the Ketan Aggarwal murder case. Police on Sunday claimed that Sia Goyal’s sitting was not just a gesture to push her alleged lover Chetan Choudhary, but it was also part of a well-planned plan to ensure her safety. Chetan had used a scooter instead of a car on the day of the incident to escape from the police.
sitting wasn’t just a pushover gesture
Police said on Sunday that Ketan Aggarwal’s fiancee Siya Goyal sitting at the spot was not only a signal to her alleged lover Chetan Choudhary to push Ketan off the Lohagarh Fort, but also to ensure that she remained out of his reach while falling.
According to the police, under the plan, Siya was to sit under the pretext of drinking water or tying shoelaces. This was the signal for Chetan that he would reach the spot and push the unaware Ketan off the cliff. He also executed the plan very well. According to the officer, both of them carried out the crime as per the plan. Investigating officers said that the sitting gesture was chosen so that Siya remained out of reach of Ketan during the push. They feared that if Ketan had tried to catch Siya while she was falling after being pushed, she too might have fallen into the ditch. Therefore the entire plan was made keeping his safety in mind.
Chetan left the car and went to Lohagarh Fort on scooter.
Co-accused Chaudhary had also taken full care of hiding his presence while chasing Goyal and Aggarwal on June 18. Police said he deliberately traveled from Pune to Lohagarh Fort (a distance of about 90 km) by scooter instead of car. Investigating officials say that he had chosen the scooter due to the fear of identifying the car at the toll plaza. The police have also confiscated that scooter. Even after the incident, Chetan had returned to Pune on the same scooter.
This is why Chetan changed his appearance
Investigation has also revealed that Chetan changed his appearance after reaching the fort. According to the police, he was wearing a hoodie while climbing the fort. Later he took off the hoodie and remained in a black T-shirt. While returning he wore the hoodie again. Investigators believe he did this to avoid attracting attention.
Police recreated the crime scene
DSP Gajanan Tompe said that the entire incident was recreated on the basis of the statement of Ketan’s fiancee Siya. After this he was taken to Lonavala police station for further questioning. During investigation, Lonavala Rural Police also seized the two-wheeler of accused Chetan. Police said that he had reached Lohagarh Fort from Pune on this bike. Apart from this, his hoodie and headphones worn on the day of the incident have also been recovered. Police said that forensic examination of the seized bike and clothes has been done.
Siya’s parents also interrogated
Earlier, the main accused Siya’s parents Praveen and Pooja were also interrogated by the Lonavala police. According to police, 26-year-old Ketan died after falling from Lohagarh Fort on June 18. Investigation has revealed that his fiancee Siya did not want to get married at this time and there was pressure on her from the family to get married.
Formation of fast track court for hearing
Police arrested Siya and her friend Chetan on June 23. The court has sent both of them to police custody till June 29. Ujjal Nikam has been appointed Special Public Prosecutor to hear the case and the Maharashtra government has also approved the formation of a fast track court.
