
In the murder case of Pune real estate businessman Ketan Aggarwal, the police on Friday interrogated Sahil Goyal, brother of the main accused Siya Goyal, for about 10 hours. After the interrogation was completed, the police allowed him to go home. An officer of Lonavala Rural Police Station said that Sahil Goyal was called for questioning in the morning. Many questions were asked to him throughout the day and he was released late in the evening.
Questions regarding Sia-Ketan’s relationship
According to the police, during interrogation, information was taken from Sahil about the relationship between his sister Sia Goyal and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary. The officer said that Sahil already knew Chetan Chaudhary, so some important facts were matched with him. For this reason he was interrogated for about 10 hours.
Ujjwal Nikam becomes special public prosecutor in Ketan murder case
At the same time, Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam has been appointed as Special Public Prosecutor in this case. Nikam himself confirmed this and said that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has requested him to fight this much talked about case in court, which he has accepted. While talking to IANS, Ujjwal Nikam said that this incident is very shocking not only for Maharashtra but for the entire country.
CM Fadnavis’ request accepted
Chief Minister Fadnavis called him and informed him about the seriousness of the matter. The CM said that the victim Aggarwal family had met him and the family had demanded special attention to this case to ensure justice. After this the Chief Minister requested me to fight this case in the court, which I have accepted. He said that when he was in his office, he got a call from the Chief Minister. Giving them information about the murder incident in Pune, the CM said that this matter has become a big challenge for the state government.
The Chief Minister requested him to take up the role of Special Public Prosecutor, to which he agreed. I am ready for this responsibility because it is a challenging matter. I have told the Chief Minister that I will handle this case with full seriousness. However, at present the police investigation is ongoing and I will be able to comment in detail on this matter only after the charge sheet is filed.
