The case of death of young Pune businessman Ketan Aggarwal, who fell from Lohagarh Fort, is getting more complicated with new revelations every day. Now the biggest twist in this high-profile case has come to light. Ketan’s fiancee Sia Goyal, arrested on murder charges, and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary, who till now were reportedly seen to be on the same side, have turned against each other in police custody. According to media reports, both are now blaming each other for the entire murder conspiracy.
Siya and Chetan were not saying anything against each other
According to the investigating officers, when the two accused were made face to face, their statements did not match. As the interrogation progressed, both of them started telling different stories in their defence. Some are blaming others for the conspiracy and some are saying the murder was someone else’s plan. This is the reason why now the investigating agencies are closely examining the statements of both. The most interesting turn came when both the accused reached police custody, initially both were not saying anything against each other, but as the pressure of interrogation increased, their alleged coordination broke down. Now Sia claims that the entire plan was Chetan’s, while Chetan is claiming his innocence and calling Sia the main conspirator.
Accused constantly changing statements
The biggest challenge before the investigating officers is who is telling the truth. The statements of both are constantly changing and do not match each other on many important points. In such a situation, the police are relying more on digital evidence, call records, CCTV footage and forensic reports.
Sia and Chetan were in constant contact for several months
According to media reports, during the investigation, the police came to know that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary were in constant contact for several months. There were more than 2,000 conversations between the two in six months and the total conversation time was more than 238 hours. Some calls lasted for two or three hours. Police believe that this was not just a normal friendship. Investigation also revealed that the two had met in a cafe in the city a day before the incident. Police suspect that the plan to remove Ketan from the way was discussed in this meeting. It is being told that the place of Lohagarh Fort was also selected in advance where there is less movement of people and it could have been easy to prove any incident as an accident.
Issue of Ketan murder case raised in Assembly, SIT investigation ordered
The echo of this massacre was also heard in the Maharashtra Assembly today. Raising the issue in the House, NCP MLA Sunil Shelke said that Ketan’s death was initially reported to be an accident, but a detailed police investigation revealed it to be a case of murder. Shelke praised the Pune Rural Police and the investigation team, saying that they brought out the truth of the case by collecting evidence and recording statements of witnesses. Shelke demanded that the role of Sia Goyal’s family should also be investigated and if necessary, they should be made accused in the case. His allegation was that Goyal’s family had hidden information about his relationship with another person from the Agarwal family. Citing phone call records and other evidence, the MLA demanded investigation of the case from every aspect and hearing in a fast-track court. Here, Presiding Officer of Maharashtra Assembly Raju Khare directed to form a Special Investigation Team to investigate the Ketan murder case.
There had been an attempt to kill Ketan three times before
The investigation has also claimed that this was not the first time an attempt was made to remove Ketan from the way. Police have received indications that alleged attempts had been made three times before, but they could not succeed. In these, once there was an attempt to push on Lohagarh Fort, second time the trip was canceled and third time the plan was postponed due to large crowd. However, all these aspects will be officially confirmed only after the investigation is completed. Another shocking claim is related to the Bali trip. Investigation revealed that the pre-wedding foreign trip was suddenly canceled because Ketan’s passport had gone missing. Later the police suspected that this could also be a part of the alleged conspiracy. This entire incident is also being investigated.
