‘Kashmiris occupy 90 percent government land of Jammu, big claim of BJP MLA

The issue of illegal occupation of government lands echoed loudly in the Kashmir Assembly today. Amidst the uproar in the House, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Vikram Randhawa gave a very serious and explosive statement and claimed that 90 percent of the government lands of Jammu division are in possession of Kashmiris. He called it a well-planned conspiracy and a threat to national security.

Speaking to ABP News, MLA Vikram Randhawa alleged that the places occupied by Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators in Jammu are government lands. He expressed apprehension that the people who accommodated these Bangladeshi infiltrators there were someone else. The BJP MLA said in clear words, “Action should be taken against all the encroachers, be they Hindu, Muslim or Sikh. But according to an estimate, 90% of the people who build houses and shops on government lands have come from Kashmir.”

‘16,212 Kanal land captured’

Citing the figures of the last assembly, Vikram Randhawa said that the Chief Minister had admitted that there is illegal occupation of 16,212 kanals of land of Jammu Development Authority (JDA). Questioning the government’s intentions, he said that perhaps because of having a ‘soft corner’ towards Kashmiris, no special task force has been formed till now to remove the encroachment.

Warning to set up ‘private defence’

BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa gave an open ultimatum to the Omar Abdullah government and said that if the administration gives up, he will not remain silent. He said, “I will personally take the initiative to liberate 688 kanals of land in my assembly constituency. Even if I have to raise a ‘private defense force’ for this, I will not step back.” Randhawa has called upon the people of Jammu to launch a new and war footing campaign on this issue.
